Most Americans have their favorite place to live or visit whether it be at a coastline or the mountains. The two states that are most favored by Americans are Florida and California. These are the biggest when it comes down to tourist attractions. There are many factors to consider when comparing California to Florida such as housing, weather, food, culture, and beaches. For a lot of different reasons people in California think living there is cheap and affordable; however, housing in California cost more than it does in Florida. California’s most ravishing views must be its coastline. There are amazing, refined, long stretches of beaches that offer a wide variety of sceneries. Beautiful white sand coming from Santa Monica, Long Beach and Big Sur. All types of people from the state of California to people from Florida enjoy California beaches. Some even like to hang loose and surf on the waves coming off the coast. Incredible evenings make families in California come together to watch the sun set. Florida beaches are not just well known in the USA but all around the world. Beaches that come to mind are Miami, Clearwater, and Sarasota beach. Miami beach is considered one of the “sexiest beaches in America.” With all the parties thrown on the beach, spring break is a local one stop for students that are coming out of Miami University. Clearwater beach, years ago, was ranked as the number one beach on the planet, with its white powdery sand and super clear water. Sarasota beach is quiet, and one can hear the natural crashing of the waves hitting the shore that sooths anybody trying to relax and enjoy their
“Honoring our heritage. Building our culture.” What can you picture in your head while reading this? Do feel honored? Maybe special? Probably phenomenal? Well, this year's Hispanic Heritage month’s theme has brought to us a meaningful, and inspiring perspective on how Latinos are becoming more honored. Not only honored by their country, and other Spanish countries, but also being honored by the United States. Hispanics have impacted our nation through their solid responsibility to family, confidence, and diligent work. They have put in the effort and time to represent their Latino/a background. They have improved and formed our national character by looking back at what their ancestors would do. These hispanics deserve the right to be honored
School children also often get a chance to try their hands at creating basic Mexican cuisine. In some areas of the southwest, particularly in the city of Los Angeles, celebrations of regional Mexican dancing and music are held. However, regardless of the area of celebration, one could almost certainly find mariachi band filled restaurants, outdoor festivities, and social gatherings with large amounts of Dos Equis and Corona beer for the adults. Cinco de Mayo has evolved into a day that focuses on celebrating Mexican heritage and the Mexican way of life, but still pays homage to the battle that gave way to Mexico’s independence. Whether one is dancing in a large parade, or simply bonding with loved ones, it is important to always recognize the true purpose of Cinco de Mayo, and to remember and thank those who helped secure Mexico’s freedom so many years ago.
Hispanics have a beautiful and unique culture. Our music, dancing and delicious foods have become an integral part of Florida. In Florida, we have been able to share these with everyone.

The California effect is the race to the top; where business wants the government to impose a new cost on the competitor. The California effect is actually an example of going from second order of preference to the first order of preference. An example of the California effect would be if the state of California force businesses to reduce car companies to reduce carbon emissions by a certain percentage. It would not be businesses first order of preference to have that regulation imposed on them. However, once the regulation is imposed business have to adapt their technology to follow the rule. Which, businesses are behaving based on their second order of preference. Which is how to behave so that they can still operate in California. As a result, businesses would want to lobby this regulation onto other states where their competitors do not have the same competitive advantage as they do. If other states do pass the same regulation that would be in businesses in California 's first order of preference since they already developed that technologies and their competitors have to play catch
I started to like living in Las Vegas, I was able to get a job right after graduation working at the McCarren Airport at Hudson News Group working as a sales associate, I didn’t have to stress too much about traffic or gas and if I wanted to I could move into my own place and offer it. With all those positive factors that still couldn’t keep me away from California.
As decades pass, Florida’s population continues to grow and change rapidly. Being from both Dominican and Puerto Rican decent, the difficulties Latin Americans encounter become obvious. Trying to make a comfortable living in any Hispanic country is not an easy task. Many Spanish families, for that reason, decide to move to the United States for a better standard of living. And many of these individuals have been able to achieve their goals in life considering their minority roles in our country. Since Florida is the first peninsula most travelers come across when arriving into the U.S., the individuals find themselves to stay. South and Central Florida have especially been common areas for Latin families. Therefore, having so many successful Hispanics around, can be very inspiring to a person.

Easter is as big of a celebration as Christmas is. Easter in the US, is celebrated by going to church for Holy Thursday and Good Friday, Holy Saturday, and also on Easter Sunday. We recognize what happened each day leading up to Jesus’ crucifixion and when he had risen from the dead. Non-religious people in the US only do Easter egg hunts and hunt for candy from the Easter bunny. This is a very common activity practiced on Easter Sunday by most families in America. Just like Christmas, Hispanic cultures really only focus on the real purpose of Holy Week and Easter. Hispanics celebrate Easter by dressing up as creatures and people from brotherhoods, and roam the streets celebrating and devoting their love towards Christ. They also celebrate by burning Judas dolls in the streets, these are made out of straw. Hispanics also go to Church to celebrate these days and to recognize them. Hispanics and the US both celebrate Easter in their own and unique
Did you know that for ever person that lives in Florida, four more people visit the state every year? Tourism makes up eighty-one percent of Florida’s gross state product. Also, “no trip is complete without tasting a fresh-picked orange or a slice of Key lime pie” (Heinrichs 11). The excellent weather and awesome beaches in Florida are irresistible to tourists. Florida’s early history, geography, climate, wildlife, and economy will be explained thoroughly in this paper.
To help me understand and analyze a different culture, I watched the film Selena. The film tells the life story of the famous singer Selena Quintanilla-Pérez. Not only does it just tell personal stories from her life, it also gives insight to the Mexican-American culture. Her whole life she lived in the United States, specifically in Texas, but was Hispanic and because of that both her and her family faced more struggles than white singers on the climb to her success. Even though the film is a story about a specific person, it brought understanding into the culture in which she lived. Keeping in mind that these ideas that I drew about the Mexican-American culture is very broad and do not apply to every single person in the culture, there were very obvious differences in their culture and the one that I belong. Mexican-American culture identifies with their family rather than individualized or spiritual identities and the culture has gone through significant changes because of discrimination and the changing demographics of the United States.
11. The cost of living is lower. Sure, to live in Miami and Tampa Bay you’ll pay a high rate to live, but millions of Floridians live in other cities as well as communities. Your housing costs will be lower and your utilities will come in reasonable. Taxes in Florida are lower too.
In the great country of the United States there are thousands of wonderful places to vacation. These places can range anywhere from the great state parks of the northwest to the hundreds of beaches among the coastline. There are two places that come to mind though when considering the best place to vacation. These two places are Panama City Beach and The Great Smoky Mountains. It is not just the common things such as a beach or huge mountains that make these two places stand out among others. It is, however, the amazing destinations that these two places offer to anyone that chooses one them to vacation at.
