After they stopped making The Dark Knight movies, everyone wondered if DC Comics would ever create another Batman movie. When Warner Bros announced that they were going to make a Batman vs Superman, directed by Zack Snyder, I was super hype because I know that Zack Snyder produced other high recognized Superman movies. Everyone was talking about how Batman vs Superman was going to be the movie of the year. People had high expectations for the movie and thought it was going to be just as good as The Dark knight. After evaluating the movie Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice, I found it to be a bad movie considering that it has a puzzling storyline, terrible acting, and not enough action.
The storyline was puzzling because it is not about Batman battling Superman and it had too many dream sequences. In one of Bruce Wayne’s dreams he went to visit his parent's grave site, he walked into the mausoleum, and the demon came out of the wall. Batman, was played by Ben Affleck in the movie Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice, I didn't think he fit the part as Batman because he was too bulky and acting like a psychopath. There were only two big fight scenes in the movie between Batman and Superman. The first fight scene was when Superman tried to stop Batman
I was wearing a Batman T-shirt. I am a huge fan of Batman. I read some of the Batman comic books. Furthermore, I like Superman as well, but I didn't think he was better than Batman. Plus, I didn't know much about Superman’s history. The first scene I saw was when Bruce Wayne had a dream about his parents been murdered outside of the movie theater. Then he fell into a cave full of bats; the bats flew out of the cave and lifted him up. Interestingly, the movie puts a twist on the the true Batman origin. By having the Joker create Batman by killing Bruce’s parents, the Batman was created to avenge evil. This being said, the traumatic experience has created a hero whose definition of justice is left to the character’s moral. Traumatized, it is clear that the Batman seeks revenge not only because the Joker murdered his parents, but also for interfering with love interest Vicki Vale. By putting Vicki Vale at risk, the Batman’s traumatic experience is tested to the limits. The origins of Batman describes a hero who will not kill, yet in this movie, the Batman easily slaughters villains with a machine gun while flying his plane. A Batman who is willing to kill cannot be justified but is seen as justified to the character as a permanent way to resolve his traumatic experience with the Joker. In the climax of the movie, Batman is hanging on the edge with Vicki Vale. Instead of just saving Vicki, Batman interferes with the Joker’s escape which ultimately leads to the Joker’s death. Through Bruce’s eyes justice was the Joker’s death when he could have just saved Vicki. Although this movie was the most entertaining, it depicts a hardened character faced with the true reality of life. When all is considered, the decisions made by the director to change Man of Steel from the original comics was a poor choice, for Superman not gaining full potential for an extensive time, he contains no concern for the citizens, and he murders a life form. The director, Zack Snyder, changed this film to try to appeal to different generations, yet he did not consider the original fanatics. The original fanatics were the ones whom created this series to what it is today. Granted Man of Steel overall was a pleasant film to watch, however the fact that it does not follow the comics furies the original Superman enthusiasts.
The differences between the films are shown while looking at batman’s resources, the Batmobile, Gadgets, and the Bat Cave. Keaton`s Batmobile first appeared when Batman went to go rescue Vicky Vale from the Joker, which is when its features were shown. Keaton`s Batmobile had a rocket blaster that causes the car to go faster. Keaton`s Batmobile also has the feature of being able to shield itself when commanded by voice control, which was shown when Keaton commanded the car to shield itself after him and Vicky Vale had escaped. Keaton`s Batmobile also has many other features such as being able to drop bombs and produce guns to shoot. The gadgets are also different from Nolan`s version of Batman. In Burton`s Batman film, the gadgets used by Keaton are the batarang, grapple gun, utility belt, communicator, sky hook, smoke pellet, gauntlet and the bat suit. Bruce Wayne’s origins story for the Batman is filled with great pain fear; his parents had died at the hands of criminals and wished to rid his city of the polluted evil it had become consumed by. He hoped to inspire the people of Gotham to stand up these criminals, but that truly wasn’t enough, he had to become more than just a man to inspire. The Batman was created to become an incorruptible and eternal symbol to bring about a change in Gotham.

Marvel has been releasing blockbuster after blockbuster for over the last decade. Marvel movies have action, a great story line, and even some comedy. Some of my favorite movies that Marvel has released are: the Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, and the Amazing Spiderman. DC movies, on the other hand, are awful and boring. Most of them don’t have a story line, they’re slow in telling the superheros story, and they aren’t based off the comics. Some disappointing DC movies that I thought would be great but weren’t: Green Lantern, Man of Steel, and the Dark Knight Rises. “The film was shot using a wider than usual lens so that it could be shown in I-MAX cinemas nationwide. Today’s audiences want an experience bigger than reality. We have to go that extra mile to give them that something extra.” Chris Nolan also insisted that the film should have a distinctive style which included making the film feel sincerely dark and sinister. Very rarely were the cameras sat still instead the cameras used very technical tricks e.g.: tracking, zoom. This film was originally promoted using a very unique style. Instead of paying for adverts they decided to promote the film using an alternative route. One of the ways this was accomplished was by de facing thousands of fake dollar notes by putting the jokers smile on top of the original face. A sane yet effective way was when many “Batman” recruits placed Joker cads into hundreds of books in libraries to do with death, this had the desired effect as many people became stirred up as to what this meant. The next alternative was to send out spam emails to the site named www.whysoserious.com. But when did Batman evolve as part of our lives. It was in 1939 when the world was introduced to a new hero. Bob Kane’s simple vigilante, Batman. The comics were e-introduced during the 50’s period. Yet due to Comic Book Censorship the violence was forced to gradually become weaker. The well anticipated Batman retuned in the 1970’s. Yet to intrigue a wider variety of audience he appeared more complicated and violent than previous comics. Today’s Batman comics show Batman as a real man with realistic and varied dilemmas. Due to these changes Batman is now one of the most original and adored comic book heroes. Nolan’s interpretation is a variety of the previous comics. It includes the violence of the First Batman mixed with the complexity and realism of today’s modern comics.
In conclusion my expectations were met because we all want to be a certain hero in our everyday lives but sometimes don’t know which one is actually the better and more positive one. Strength, power, intelligence, and authority are the most important things the outlaw hero and official hero will bring even if they are above a certain rule or really beneath it. Outlaws are not always the bad guys, but are not always the good guys either. In this case Batman is the good guy disguised as the bad guy. Official heroes are always the good guys no matter the circumstance. Superman in this case is the good guy disguised as the actual good guy. Being above the law or against it, official heroes and outlaw heroes will always paint the picture that you can be strong, powerful, intelligent, and have the authority you deserve.
In 2005 Christopher Nolan spearheaded the commercial re-boot of the Batman franchise with the movie Batman Begins, the movie achieved wide critical acclaim, and, subsequently generated, talk of a sequel. In the summer of 2008, after a vast amount of advertising and viral marketing, the highly anticipated sequel was finally released. The film 'The Dark Knight' grossed almost $67,165,092 in its first day and went on to break countless box office records. Later the next year the film won 2 Oscars and was nominated for a further 6, one award won was the 'Best Supporting Actor' award which the late Heath Ledger posthumously received, for his portrayal of the 'Joker'. Due to Ledger's untimely death the film gained even more publicity and Heath's performance was spotlighted, many people thought this might take the focus off what might be a great film and onto Ledger's performance alone. The film was released, and, although Ledger's performance was nothing short of astonishing the spotlight and focus was not taken off the film itself and the movie subsequently gained wide, and thoroughly deserved, critical acclaim. In my opinion an exceptional solo performance isn't capable of taking focus off a good film if it is itself worthy of credit, the performance is simply a different aspect of the film.

Batman Begins has an incredible amount of struggles that not only Bruce Wayne must face but all of Gotham must face. The first of many of these was Thomas and Martha Wayne's sudden death at the beginning. This left both the people of Gotham and Bruce Wayne to struggle along without them “Their deaths galvanized the city into saving itself and Gotham has limped on ever since.” (Batman Begins, Ras Al Ghul, Scene 31) This also created much anger and rage in Bruce Wayne that he released as Batman. There is also the struggle with the crime rate in Gotham and keeping alive the cities slowly falling government. These things differ from the Dark Knight where the struggles are with mainly the Joker and his actions. Many more unexpected and out of control struggles occur in The Dark Knight. The Joker (mastermind terrorist) creates many series of problems and difficulties for Batman, Gordon, Dent, and all of Gotham in general. Another big problem, quite different from the first one is the capturing of Joker. Unlike the first film, the struggles of The Dark Knight are much more external while the first one was fixing what was on Gotham’s internal problems.
