Anna Duggar is going through a lot right now and new pictures have everyone wondering if she has decided to change the Duggar clothing rules when it comes to her family. If you have ever watched 19 Kids and Counting, the Duggar family doesn't show off very much skin. The girls wear skirts or dresses and they don't wear swimsuits at all. The youngest Duggar girl does look adorable, but it is not what everyone is used to seeing a female in the Duggar family wearing. A lot of people think that pants are more modest than skirts, but one person explained the difference in the comments on this post.
No because pants show curves and show the outline of parts. If you are talking about if pants are more modest when you are working out, riding a motorcycle, etc. then yes, pants are more modest. If you are just doing day-to-day things, then skirts are more modest. That is just my opinion though. So many people have different opinions than me and that is just fine.
The Duggars are known for not wearing pants and also for their courting ways. If a Duggar girl is interested in a man, they will court each other, not kiss or even front hug and then save every bit of this until their wedding day. Sometimes they will decide to hold hands once they are engaged, but the Duggars save their first kiss for their wedding day. I feel that in today’s society that men are discriminated against for the way they wear their clothes, specifically, their pants. For many guys sagging your pants are a fashion statement, although many people perceive individuals sagging their pants as “bad” individuals. As a kid, I did wear my pants below my butt, but as I grew older, it gradually raised. I am a professional person, but my style and my comfort have my pants lie just below my hips. I wear a belt, but having my pants all the way above my waist makes me extremely uncomfortable. Even for my wedding, I had to have my pants altered, because tuxedo pants only sit high on the waist. I find it hard to have a law against someone’s choice of fashion, and that one could get fined in some states for sagging your pants. It seems a bit discriminatory when some women can go out barley wearing anything and get fined. The sagging pants law should be eradicated because it is discriminatory and a waste of resources, and instead left up to the community to decide weather they would like to provide services to people who sag their pants.
As a young girl, I was never fond of the name Anna. The name came along with too much baggage.. Unknowingly, people would constantly call me the wrong name, and some people, disregarding my opinion, even created strange nicknames for me. Over the years, I have been called a variety of names including Annie, Ann, Anna, Annabelle, Anne Frank, banana, banana boat, etc. Frankly, there are just too many variations of the name “Anna”. Being an extremely common name, almost everywhere I go, whether it be school or the grocery store, I always seem to find another “Anna”. What is the big deal? Yes, the older Duggar girls always wear dressed of below the knee length. Anna’s baby isn’t a young lady, teenager or adult, why does she need to follow the dress code at her infant age? There isn’t a reason for it except that it provides fodder for negative people to take action on and feel their comments are important and matter when they really just get ignored for being ignorant for saying silly things. Could the day have been cold when she was wearing those cute little pants? Can anyone remember back in the good old days when girls didn’t wear pants at all to school, church or family functions? Many grew up this way but that didn’t mean parents didn’t have pants to put on their babies when they were little tots to keep them completely covered from the cold or just so they wouldn’t get rug burns on their knees when they started crawling. Snow pants were very common and still are in some areas. Is it wrong to wear these if you are part of the Duggar family? Some may thing so and that isn’t right to judge especially when the child in question is still too young to even talk or walk yet. If clothing restrictions are enforced in the future, there is hope for future generations. Self-expression is of importance in any child’s life, but self-expression shouldn’t be a detriment. In my opinion, the way this generation dresses now is definitely harming their character and reputation. Many business professionals, professors, and more find this way of dressing offensive. Parents face endless amounts of criticism, and backfire for allowing their child (ren) to step out of their home in such a fashion.

Two interesting short stories, “The Yellow Wall-paper and “The Story of an Hour, “ focus on a woman’s plight near the turn of the 19th century. This era is especially interesting because it is a time in modern society when women were still treated as second class citizens. The two main characters in these stories show similarities, but they are also remarkably different in the ways they deal with their problems and life in general. These two characters will be examined to note the commonalities and differences. Although the two characters are similar in some ways, it will be shown that the woman in the “The Story of an Hour” is a stronger character based on the two important criteria of rationality and freedom.

These instructions set out by the mother are related to topics including household chores, manners, cooking, social conduct, and relationships. The reader may see these instructions as demanding, but these are a mother’s attempt, out of care for the daughter, to help the daughter to grow up properly. The daughter does not appear to have yet reached adolescence, however, her mother believes that her current behavior will lead her to a life of promiscuity. The mother postulates that her daughter can be saved from a life of promiscuity and ruin by having domestic knowledge that would, in turn also, empower her as a productive member in their community and the head of her future household. This is because the mother assumes that a woman’s reputation and respectability predisposes the quality of a woman’s life in the community.
In our society most men are likely to obtain higher paying jobs and are able to continue working even after becoming parents, whereas, majority of women obtain lower paying jobs and having to choose between being a parent and having a career. After reading the plays of Top Girls by Caryl Churchill and Hosanna by Michael Tremblay, I discovered that gender played a major role in how men and women are treated in society. The characters in these two plays challenges the gender norms, and therefore, I will argue that women are not treated equally in the workplace; that people who are of the queer community are considered to be inferior and less worthy of being accepted within the public sphere.
