ABSTRACT
In this essay, I will tie together everything I have learned studying communication this semester and what I plan to do in the study of communication in the future. I will define communication studies and discuss its importance in the world by explaining its conceptual and practical relevance. I will also talk about the specific areas of communication that interest me as well as identifying a few options of what I might do with my communication major. To finish, I will articulate a plan of action for next semester.

No matter if it is verbal or nonverbal, everything revolves around communication. Whether it is business and the exchange of goods, or in today’s technology driven society, the use of communication is key. The conceptual relevance of communication is the communicator or sender (who can be the receiver since the roles usually interchange), sending an uninterrupted message (verbal or nonverbal), through a medium of their choosing (face-to-face, email, phone) to a receiver. The practical relevance of communication is essential in every aspect of life from developing relationships in your personal life, to how you transmit information to your peers at your job, and at management level, it is vital to be able to communicate with you subordinates accurately and …show more content…

Communication is everything and everywhere, its daily impact on humanity is invaluable. After taking this class I have found passion for working with groups, I feel like that would be a good fit for me especially being a person that likes to work with people. I feel like I am a good fit working as a company spokesperson or if my dream becomes true working in a radio station as a talk radio personality. Next year will be a better year for me, I feel like I have finally understood this university thing, coming from community college it has been an eye-opening experience, and I will put to use everything I have learned this semester.
