Is College worth It American’s obsession on whether or not graduates from high school have to go to college is a problematic issue of today in society. Many people will argue that college is not worth going to due to the strains that it puts on one’s life and the debt of loans that develops during the student’s duration of college. On the other hand, plenty of evidence suggests that, on average, a college degree is worth it. Based on these ideas, colleges are worth going to because, most college graduates upon closer examination have said that colleges provide many outlets to explore different careers, college graduates receive higher paying jobs, and college graduates gain more interpersonal skills. College allows students to explore different career options for what they believe is best to achieve their career goals. Colleges offer many different opportunities such as internships, job fairs, and volunteer opportunities these wide variety of courses not only benefits the person in their career decision, but it helps guide them in towards their career goals. Upon graduating from high school, many students do not know what they want to accomplish in their life yet or what career path they want to take. So, being able to experience the many outlets that a college could give students in search of a career, that would better suit their style would benefit them enormously, because instead of wasting time going after a career they would not excel in, they would be able to pursue a career that they are passionate about. Before graduating college, over 80% of college students complete internships, giving them valuable employment experience before entering the job market (“College Education”). Many people have a hard time trying to decide whether college is really worth all the hassle that comes with it. Plenty would claim no, while many would protest yes. People who argue that college is worth it contend that colleges provide many outlets to explore different careers, college graduates receive higher paying jobs, and college graduates gain more interpersonal skills. While people who disagree believe that you could still become successful with the just the general high school knowledge. Sometime in the future, maybe there will be a higher percentage of people going to college, earning a degree and achieving a better job than just sticking with a high school diploma.
