I am constantly doing something and always on my toes for what is going to happen next in my life. Like most of you i am a high school student trying to manage my grades for college. I am a member of NHS, i go to work and I manage to do after school activities. Today, I'm going to walk you through the three most important things in life to me. I have been doing softball ever since i was around five years old as well. Once i got into highschool i quit select softball of six years to play for the Granite City Warriors. I know we all love sports, but sports isn’t what’s going to get you to live a good lifestyle. That’s what I’m going to talk to you about next, my future life goals and achievements. When i graduate high school my first step for achieving my goal is to become a Radiologist Technician. I plan on going to SWIC for two years tuition free to complete all my regular classes and major in their Radiology program. My next step into achieving my final goal is to complete Radiology school, and once graduated become a Obstetric Ultrasonographer. Once managing a job as a Radiologic technician, I plan on going back to school for two years at St. Louis Community College (SLCC) to complete a two year degree in ultrasound to pursue my dream of becoming a Obstetric Ultrasonographer. If you don’t know exactly what a Obstetric Ultrasonographer is, it is someone who takes ultrasounds of pregnant women when they are pregnant to monitor the baby and the mother in the growing

Of all the sports that I have seen I can say with all confidence I never thought softball would be my sport. When I first thought about playing softball I thought I could never do it. Then, as I finally agreed to play softball, I was completely petrified. I got on the field and the first thing I did was mess up and I messed up badly. I barely could catch a ball here, I was standing there watching everyone play like pros.
I tried out and made my highschool team. While playing on my highschool team I joined a travel team for the Brooklyn Cyclones while still playing for my church’s high school team. My passion for softball could not be taken away from me. Even when I failed, I did not give up on my dream. Giving up on my dream of being successful in softball would be equivalent to letting down my past self who was just a little girl who fell in love with softball. Playing softball was my parents way of wearing me out, but it was my way of getting away from the problems of the real world and into a world of my own. Between two white chalk lines nothing else mattered, but playing the game I fell in love with when I was only ten years old. On the field, I was able to feel pure bliss. Playing softball for seven years has not only given me joy, but it has also taught me life skills that I use from day to day. I learned to work as a team to achieve a common goal, to communicate with others better, I have learned to cherish my wins while accepting my losses and I have learned no matter what happens in life, you always have to put your heart and soul into everything you
The importance of softball in my life goes unnoticed by others, but I owe everything I am to this sport. I am an organized, cooperative woman who does not let failures affect my work ethic. Although my friends and family do not give my softball career much credit, I am confident that the lessons I’ve taken away from this sport have proficiently prepared me to step up to the plate and score a successful
I have been playing baseball as long as I can remember. My dream ever since I was little was to win a State Championship in high school. Baseball is the only sport that I could literally play every day and not get tired of it. I told myself that I would never give up my dream of playing baseball as long as I live.
For the past eight years of my life I have been playing softball. It all started when I was eight years old and my dad took me to my first softball practice. I was thrilled to be playing a sport. My dad grew up playing baseball and his sisters played softball so he was ecstatic when I was finally old enough to play. I loved softball for the first 4 years of playing when it was all fun and games. In middle school softball became harder and more competitive and I slowly started to lose interest in it. I thought high school softball would be different; I would love my teammates, make varsity, and all along have a great first season of highschool softball… I was wrong.

My 8th grade year of high school I was on the softball and basketball team. My freshman year I was on the basketball and softball team, and a BHS Dazzler which is danceline. Softball was my main sport, but I did everything else until it was time to play softball. I feel in love with softball at an early age. I would play every summer and each year my love for the sport grew. Each year when I played softball in Vidalia or Jonesville I would make all-stars.
I have been play softball for almost 13 years. When I was young my grandpa got me into playing and ever since I loved it. Softball is not just a game to me it’s a passion. Over the years of playing I became great at almost every position. The only position I am not that good at is pitching but that okay because I am not a pitcher. You can put me anywhere on the field, I won’t complain. But the position I love to play more than others is catcher. I love the rush of making sure the ball doesn’t go past me or making sure the other team doesn’t advance to the next base.

The experience of the APEC Youth Science festival was incredible. It has had an enormous impact on me in many ways, changing the way I look at the world and connecting me with people and events far beyond my formerly limited experience. I am extremely glad to have had this opportunity. It was a wonderful experience on multiple levels. It challenged me and expanded me intellectually and socially. I feel that this experience has had an immense impact on me.
I have participated in softball since I was old enough to swing a bat. I began to play t-ball when I was four years old and I have continued to play up to this day at eighteen years old. I have always enjoyed the sport even when times got rocky and frustration got the best of me. To me, softball was a great way to get my exercise, relieve stress, and meet new friends along my journey. Playing softball has taught me patience (as much as I could handle), it encouraged me to better myself as a player, teammate, and myself. I have developed many leadership skills that I would not have learned without this sport. I understand how to stand fair along with loyal in and out of the game. I would play every summer or I was asked to play which helped me travel all over the place and meet new friends. Each year I played my love for the sport grew more and more. I played on multiple teams throughout the summer. Playing with one of my teams I gained the advantage to visit Santé Fe, New Mexico two years in a row to play softball. When I reached 8th grade I was excited about playing for the high school softball team until I figured out how it really was. Although I was not happy about having to sit on the bench, but I understood that I had to earn the privilege to play, and that the upperclassman were more seasoned.
When I first started playing softball, I never thought I would be where I am today, which is finishing up my senior year of college and still playing softball. I started playing softball at the age of nine, with no skills and only knowledge from watching baseball on television, learning to play a new sport was challenging, but learning to play a sport with teammates was rewarding and tested my willpower and determination for the game. However, through tenacity, patience, hard work, and constantly practicing, my playing ability developed rapidly. Depending on what level of softball I was playing, we practiced anywhere from four to ten hours a week as a team, and individually I would put in two to three hours a day. Although practice didn’t make me perfect, it taught me to never give up and that if I wanted to live my dream as a college softball player, I was going to have to develop the work ethic to get there.
