Who doesn’t want to graduate from high school? Every senior in high school looks forward to the day they get to walk across the stage and receive their diploma to prance around and take pictures with to show to everyone. Including me, but I wanted way more than that. I wanted to at least rank in the top 50 percent of my graduating class. In the beginning, I knew high school was going to have some tough obstacles I would have to cross over, but no goal was ever to hard for me to accomplish. The way my mom raised all six of her kids, education came first and failure wasn’t an option. It took me dedication, hard work, and many tough decisions to help me accomplish what I wanted for my graduation goal.

In my opinion, dedication takes effort, in fact it takes a lot of effort to be dedicated. Since ninth grade year I knew what I was looking forward on doing. I wanted to succeed at everything. I mean who hates failing? I wouldn’t say I was a perfectionist, but I loved seeing my parents happy at what I was capable of doing. All four years of high school, I made sure to pass all my classes and tests with “A’s” and “B’s”. Just seeing a simple “C” would bring my confidence level on down to a zero. Even though I received a grade “C” before, it didn’t stop me from pulling it back up to an “A” and continued to excel. I’m glad that happened because it was a wake-up call telling me to do better, or else. I dedicated my whole high school learning to make sure my dreams would turn into reality. …show more content…

She was absolutely right. Hard work is what I came into freshman year believing that this is what is needed to be done. Since the beginning, I gave my all on all of my work that was giving to me. I studied when I needed to and relaxed when it was time. Receiving “A’s” and “B’s” wasn’t just given to me, I had to earn and work hard to make the dream I had set to come
