In my first undergraduate year, I did not live my life. I existed. I was lost in the class and completely in crisis for boring general subjects of International Economic Relations. My performance was poor with no impressive grades and no social activities. I kept wondering: Is it my passion to live? Should I choose another major?...Such questions crept into my mind until one day I wandered the central library and stumbled across one book titled “So good so that they can’t ignore you” by Cal Newport. Being the best student with on-hands experiences and interpersonal skills would be a firm benchmark for my further education and work. The more I dig deep into my major, the more I am passionate into it. I continued my efforts in studying and obtained the top highest GPA upon the whole major. I was honored with the Study Encouragement Scholarship five times at UEL, which was granted to 10 best students out of nearly three hundred ones for each semester. Beyond my excellent academic record, I also took part in numerous extra-curricular activities to build up exceptional and qualified personalities. Knowing that English would be a useful means of communication to do business, I decided to master English and get an honored international certificate within eight months. Being awarded the First Prize in UEL English competition, I was selected as a leader of the most favored Vietnamese English community with more than 125 thousand followers and a proactive member of Youth Union, I organized and cooperated events for students, which helped me to earn multiple skills in organization, inspiration and leadership. Last year, I was accepted as the unique speaker representing Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City to join the Educational Forum and Young Speaker Contest 2015 organized by AUN and ASEAN+3 network in Malaysia. I were actually impressed by its striving from its best to become better. Renowned companies such as Samsung, LG, Postco and Lotte have become so familiar with Vietnamese. It really got me thinking: why there is such a country that can take a huge leap and become a developed one so fast? I strongly believe that these secrets lie on education. Korea is the country that the slogan “Knowledge is Power” is too good to be true. Korea not only can bring the country back from the darkest times, but also invest in other countries to support their development by equipping young generations with an advanced mixture of Eastern and Western education system, well-trained professors and course structure in aligment with real working pratices. All above experiences, along with vivid cultural traditions and industrial lifestyle, have led my decision to pursue higher education in Korea. After graduation, I became a Management Trainee for Global Leadership Program of the world leading labeling company, and had Lean Immersion Training in China. During my working time, my future goals and interests in International Economics and Korea have been formed more clearly and affirmed strongly.
