A code of ethics is a document that highlights the mission and standards of an organization, how members are expected to conduct themselves, the organization's key values the associated ethical requirements and the standards at which the members will operate. The codes of ethics for the Volkswagen Group and TECO Energy are a good example, of a similar, different and unique code of ethics.
In its code of conduct, the Volkswagen Group requires that the employees' undertakings should not conflict with their personal interests and those of the organization. Similarly, the code of ethics for TECO Energy requires that all its employees should act in the greatest interest of the company at all times. During the usual conduction of business, access to confidential information by employees may occur. Such information is concealed from the public or may be injurious to the organization, group members or customers on disclosure. TECO Energy strictly prohibits the sharing of confidential material with anyone other than what is necessary to perform duties assigned by the business. The code requires that all members should act to safeguard confidential information and secure it, limiting it to those who are allowed to access. The Volkswagen Group code states that the protection of confidential, secret, and individual data is one principle upon which the organization bases its associations with its employees, former employees, their families, job seekers, customers, dealers, and other members. For example in the environmental clause, TECO Energy requires that its businesses be conducted in an environmentally friendly manner with the highest regard to the environment. Employees and other members are required to report environmental emergencies quickly and attempt all possibilities to prevent the impacts on our environment. On the other hand, Volkswagen Group's code states that as automobile manufacturers, the organization bears the responsibility for perpetual improvement of the environment to tolerate its products and to reduce the strains on natural resources while considering economic impacts. The organization thus make environmental friendly technologies and avails them globally. The code requires that all employees make suitable and reasonable use of natural resources and guarantee influences the environment
