“The rise of America, and the globalization of war, politics, trade, and communication during the twentieth century, are mirrored by the rise of Coca-Cola, the world’s most valuable and widely recognized brand, which is universally regarded as the embodiment of America and its values.” This quote in A History of World in 6 Glasses means that the rise of America and Coca-Cola at the same time, allowed Coca-Cola to become a recognized image for everyone across the world of America. People around the world, associated Coca-Cola with the U.S.A. as it became a grand image of freedom, equality, and democracy.
The world in the eighteenth and nineteenth century was changing rapidly. Industrialization and consumerism flourished in Europe and the United States. The world was constantly discovering new ideas and ways of life. Mass production and marketing were integral pieces to success during this time. Industrialization forced many people to begin working in factories, and many people moved into the city instead of working on farms. Mass production allowed unskilled workers to do highly skilled jobs. Assembly lines were set up in factories so that a person would do a job over and over again. This allowed the person to become very skilled in that position and in return businesses were very efficient. Many countries enjoyed great success but it was America who lead the way.
In May, 1886, Coca-Cola was invented by a pharmacist named John Pemberton, also known as “Doc.” He fought in the Civil War, and after the war he wanted to invent something that brought him wealth. Pseudo medicines were very popular at this time in the United States, and John was very experienced at making patent medicines. Although he had a lot of expertise in that area...

...ll different cultures drank Coca-Cola during social gatherings and special events. It was used as a sign of freedom and equality, and as an offering of respect and peace. It was common for people to sit down to get to know each other while drinking a glass of Coca-Cola. Coca-Cola has become the number one company in the world and has become the most popular soft drink ever. It has spread to over 200 countries and billions of servings of coke are served each day.
Ultimately, Coca-Cola has influenced many different aspects of life. It has connected cultures all over the world, and brought happiness to many across the nations. The United States and Coca-Cola mirrored in their rise, and brought the world closer together. It is amazing how one drink can influence so many different types of people. Life as we know it today would be totally different without Coca-Cola.
