I believe that I should be the frontrunner to win the CNB Bank Scholarship because of my work ethic with at my education as well as my past and current accomplishments. To start, I feel that the recipient of the CNB Bank Scholarship should display persistent work ethic. Throughout my four years at Bradford Area High School I have accomplished many achievements. During my education it is to my knowledge that I have never missed an assignment deadline. I feel that this credits the effort I put into my education. I managed to meet these deadlines while juggling two different jobs. The person to win the CNB Bank Scholarship should be someone who represents their community and their selves accordingly. From the time that I walked into kindergarten to now I am still yet to be disciplined in school, whether it is for academic or behavioral reasons. When speaking about the community, I have donated numerous personal hours to help charities raise money. In …show more content…
The Pride award is a school based award, and is given to people who show school pride. I received my pride award for helping the United Way sell snow cones. This award is a perfect example of who I am as a person. In the future I plan to obtain a high paying job, but if even if that does not happen I will always make room in my budget to help support charitable causes. Another award I received in my sophomore year was the Rising Star award. This award is for students who have showed academic growth in a subject. I was given this for my work in Spanish. Again, I feel this award reflects me because I may not always the best or the smartest, but I will never let someone outwork me for my goals. Just like for the CNB Bank Scholarship, some applicants may be substantially more qualified, but I can guarantee that I will give the best effort both in my studies and granted I win, putting the money to its greatest
I believe that there are many reasons that I am well qualified to receive this “Courage to Grow” scholarship. One main point would be my excellence in leadership and community service. I currently serve as senior class Vice President and President of the Future Teachers of America club at Auburn High School. I am a class representative for our Student Council and am very involved with the children’s ministry at my local church, serving as a Kids Camp counselor and VBS assembly leader. Another reason I believe I should receive this scholarship is for my outstanding academic achievements. I have been inducted into the National Honors Society, Spanish National Honors Society and the Mu Alpha Theta Mathematics Honors Society. I have also received
I am honored to be among the students who are being considered for the National Honor Society. I must admit that this is a group that I have been anticipating joining since the beginning of my high school career. I believe that I deserve this honor and this chance because I have worked very hard to get here. The National Honor Society is known for recognizing students with grades and praiseworthy character, I believe that I have both. My grades are a priority at school because when it comes down to it that is what I will be judged on, alongside my character and attitude. As a student athlete, I pride myself on being a good role model, not just in my home and school, but also in my community. I have participated in many activities that served
Thank you so much for allowing me to be one of Babbitt Men’s Club Golf Scholarship winners at the 2016 Graduation Banquet. I have been enjoying school, learning advanced and intriguing new information at Mesabi Range college, and meeting new people. I plan to attend Mesabi Range College for another year; during this year I will be obtaining an LPN diploma to become a Practical Nurse, having graduated this Spring with my Associates Degree. One of the prerequisites for this program is acquiring a CNA certificate; a nurse’s assistant certificate. This course is 4 credits and I will be taking it in the Summer semester. I plan on using the money from the Babbitt Men’s Club Scholarship to pay for this class, taking the first step towards my career
On stage, I anticipated third place, but was once again stunned when I placed second. This whole experience was life changing. Working for the National FFA Convention, I developed a work ethic to stick to something, and to do my best, even if it seems impossible. I also gained communication skills, and the ability to work outside my comfort zone. Even now it is hard for me to interact with others, but this accomplishment taught me that I can do hard things and I can communicate effectively. I learned how to perform research and express my findings. This experience was also very valuable for it directed me to my career path. It opened up doors as to my abilities, and gave me the confidence to pursue my dreams without fear. It taught me that failures happen, but enduring effort will turn failure into success. In my interviews, I learned that complete honesty is far better than false cover-ups. I became the person I am now because I was blessed with the experience. This project for some may be seen as a great award, but for me it's an invaluable occurrence which had more life skills and experience than a piece of paper can ever
Feel I qualify for this scholarship because I love to help people. Through different experiences, such as sports and school, I have learned and demonstrated various leadership skills. Being a Link crew leader not only taught me how to be a leader but, it help me have faith in myself and to always look up to younger people. I joined link crew so I could help our new 10 graders find their way around, and to feel included and accepted at their new school. For example during orientation in august I was giving good amount of advice to my sophomore group to be able to survive high school since I am a senior this year This made me proud and humbled that I could make a huge impact in someone's life. Another reason is I am good at organization and
I deserve to win the $1,000 Gen and Kelly Tanabe Scholarship because I will change lives with its help. I plan to become an early childhood educator and will continue with school until I become just that. I believe that with the help of this scholarship, I will help many children reach goals that are just as significant as my own. Also, I will be able to set an example for children who may have not come from financially stable homes, and show that anything is possible if you put forth the effort. My parents are divorced and I have been evicted from 2 homes in the past three years; however that has not stopped me from getting my high school diploma and setting further goals for myself.
I believe that in order to be a part of this program that I need to excel academically and demonstrate the characteristics that NJHS looks for. I should be chosen to be a member of this program because I display the characteristics required to be a part of NJHS. Scholarship, Leadership, Service, Citizenship, and Character are all things that I show and that I know I have. If I am chosen to be a part of this program, I promise to follow through as best as I can do. I will fulfill my duties as a member of NJHS and help others to the best of my
Scholarship, leadership, character, and service are four attributes that define an excellent student. Being in high school, it’s difficult at times to be a leader, show your character, and be involved with voluntary services while being focused on scholarship, but I have managed to do all four numerous times. I am so grateful and excited to have the chance to be a part of the National Honors Society.
Coming from a family with no college education, a college degree has always been a lifetime goal and dream of mine. My mom and dad have worked in furniture factories since their graduation from high school, and I have seen their personal struggles, and it has only pushed me harder to want to attend college. My parents have always worked hard to bless me with all they could, but paying for college is out of their control, therefore I am heavily relying on scholarships. Receiving the Phil Jones Memorial Scholarship would mean everything to me and would be a tremendous help for me while at ICC and UMMC. If I could win this scholarship, it would help me achieve the goal of staying away from student loans and debt.
My pride isn’t just in the school that I represent, whether that be my high school or SDSU, but it is also geared towards myself and what I bring to the table. In my work and in my actions, I take pride in who I am and how I want to be perceived. Not only do I want others to be happy with what I’ve accomplished, but I too need to be happy with the final outcome knowing I gave it my all. My personal pride is my complete heart and soul given into everything that I do.
I was told that being recognized by the school board was a great accomplishment for the school; it enabled the school to receive more funding for repairs, and clubs, etcetera. Competing was not only amazing for myself, but it helped those around me as well, and I couldn’t have asked for a better senior year. Russell Mark once said, “Competing at the highest level is the greatest test of one's character.” That being said, I do agree with his quote; people do show that there is a different side of themselves when
I strongly believe I deserve the “Courage to Grow” Scholarship, because ever since I can remember, my education has always been the first priority in my life. Being a determined and conscientious student, I maintained a 3.8 G.P.A. out of a 4.0 scale throughout High School, earning myself a spot on the Honor Roll list every semester. Even though learning does not come easy for me, because of my ADD, I never give up on my dreams. I also participated in many extracurricular activities such as Key Club- a volunteering organization, Book Club, and the Cheerleading team. Being a member of these clubs not only taught me leadership and communication skills, but also how to be a well-rounded student.
Describe the factors or attributes you feel make you a deserving candidate for this award. I feel as though I am very deserving of this award because I have worked very hard to keep my grades where they are at right now. Also there is not that many scholarships for student who are not freshman or transfer student. If I were to transfer to UTA right now with my current grades I would get the automatic scholarship that transfer students get if they have a 3.5 GPA. I think I have made great academic progress in my time here a UTA, and am only going to continue to get better, for this reason I believe i am a deserving candidate for this award.
I am an extremely hard worker, I lead by example, and I never try to find excuses. As the dedicated student-athlete that I am, I have managed to become one of the better students in the classroom, as well as one of the best athletes. This has not come by luck, but rather by the grace of God and the work ethic that he has blessed me with. Whether or not I am selected to National Honor Society, I will continue to use my platform to make a positive impact on our community and our
Receiving merit is a reward because of my academic effort, volunteering around the community, and athletic achievement but it means a lot more to me. This will help me in the future for college and will give me the best chance to flourish. It is something I will not take for granted and I will use this merit scholarship to help me in the long run. I always believe if I work the hardest I can, good things will come. I am going to use all these tools to prosper in college and I am ready for the future. I am fully dedicated and committed to my goals and I will not stop until I get there. I believe I am a worthy candidate for the
