A clicker system benefits school systems and students to help provide better education. Clickers are reliable, easy-to-use, cost effective, and accurate which make them a great tool to improve education all across the world. With a clicker response system, all students are able to indulge in class through a more active learning style. An active learning style allows students to stay attentive and not doze off during a lecture and miss important information. All in all, the use of clickers by students in school systems helps better provide a more active education that keeps students engaged.
Why is active learning a good way of teaching and should be used in schools? Active education is praised by many school systems, and Margret Martyn, Vice President of academic affairs and student services at Harold Washington College, states that active education is “one of seven principles of good practice in higher education.” By engaging students and getting the students interested on a topic or subject, students learn better because they pay attention more. Ian Beatty, an educational researcher at UMass Amherst, states that by engaging students, students “develop a more solid, integrated, useful understanding of concepts and their interrelationships and applicability” (Beatty). An engaged student will be better able to remember information discussed during class.
Clickers engage students in a classroom through a variety of ways. First off, just showing up to class or attending a lecture increases the engagement a student has with the information being presented. In a study done by Richard Schiming, a retired economic professor at Minnesota State University: Mankato, research proved that “attendance is statistically significant in explaini...

Engagement in classroom discussions influences positive engagement in the workplace by allowing the individual to be more social and attentive when put in the environment, and to also makes the environment a great place to work. The first thing everyone learns is listening and acknowledging what you have learned which is used in any setting. Classroom engagement can help develop someone’s communication skills, time management and self awareness. Being in the classroom teaches you how to communicate with people, and speak to people positively. This type of
According to Worthen, "these newer and innovative teaching methods are moving out the traditional lecturing method " while on the other hand according to Annie Murphy Paul, the active learning helps students to openly interact with one another and participate in lecture. Annie Murphy Paul says, "The act of putting one's own thoughts into words and communicating them to others, is a powerful contributor to learning. Active-learning courses regularly provide opportunities for students to talk and debate with one another in a collaborative, low-pressure environment". Whereas as per Worthen, "Absorbing a long, complex argument is hard work, requiring students to synthesize, organize and react as they listen". I do agree with her that it is a hard work but at the same time I also feel there is no scope of interaction for students during traditional lecture teaching. I would say the key to lecturing method is to keep them short as well as one needs to in cooperate other innovative teaching approaches like active learning. This helps students to interact with the given piece of information which promotes active thought, with the help of activities like discussions, debates , seminars, showing educational videos, application of principles etc. Students are doing more than simply listening which helps in skills development rather than just note-
It is obvious that education, whether classroom instruction or practical drill, advice or entreaty, must ensure that students are positively involved, that they at least listen and pay attention to the words, actions, and the thoughts of their educators, instead of drifting off or doing something else, or simply leaving to try to learn what they need on their own (Prange 74).

Technology can enhance class communications by offering many different ways to reach parents and students. The use of different technologies can help teachers to answer student questions as well as continue a class discussion outside of class. This is helpful for both the student and teacher because it allows the teacher to see which students are comprehending the material they are learning.

Many opinions were made by credible sources throughout Millar’s article. One example includes a statement made by Dr. Larry Cuban who is a professor emeritus of education at Stanford University. He stated, “Why spend money on devices that will lose novelty with students over time?” (Quoted in Millar). Another example would be one stated by Dr. Thierry Karsenti, a Canadian Researcher in Information and Communication Technologies in
Despite the advantages of having the extent of man’s knowledge at one’s fingertips, technology is not the best learning tool within the classroom. On a university-sponsored TEDTalk, Stephen Tonti said “We have to teach kids to teach themselves. It’s the best things we can do for our kids…. Our society has to embrace cognitive diversity.” There are three major types of learners: auditory, visual, and kinesthetic. If one places the three types of learners in a science lab course, they retain information very differently. Auditory learners thrive when the teacher describes with brilliant imagery wheat happens when muscle fibers contract. Visual learners w...
Furthermore, the learning process is easily enhanced when technology is used. First, with Internet access in each classroom, it allows the teacher to access massive amounts of information in just a few seconds. This information can be given to the students in a clear, easy to read format as it is projected onto the screen. With such easy access to information, students are able to learn more in a smaller time span, while teachers are able to be more efficient in how they teach. This makes the education a person gets from their school more valuable for their money; and money is important as college costs continue to rise.
Discussion, the active learner participates in peer discussion and any other assignment. This will help problem solving, experimentation, synthesis and other evaluation of contents.

There are many ways that technology can help provide our PE teachers with positive teaching strategies in order to improve the quality of their classes. One way technology improves a physical education classroom
Technology properly used in the classroom has many advantages to a student’s learning. Technology can help students become more involved in their own learning process, which is not seen in the traditional classroom. It allows them to master basic skills at their own rate rather than being left behind. Teachers and students alike can connect to real life situations by using technology in the classroom; this can also help to prepare students for real world situations. Technology can be used to motivate students as well as to offer more challenging opportunities. It can also be used as a visualization tool to keep students interested in the subject that is being taught. When technology is used effectively, students have the opportunity to develop skills that they may not get without the use of technology (Cleaver, 2011). Assessing and monitoring students is easier on the teacher because of the ability to use technology in the classroom. When technology is used correctly it offers limitless resources to a classroom atmosphere.
