What is a hero? Why are they recognized in our society? A hero is someone who sacrifices and strives to help others, even if their lives are at risk. Heroes aren’t afraid, irresponsible, or frail. They don’t just lag around when problems are happening; they stand up for what is right and just for others. These role models inspire and protect others through the hardest times. Some major role models in our society today are Abraham Lincoln, Frederick Douglass, Welles Crowther, and Nancy Gianni. These people don’t hesitate to stand up for the right cause though many trials rise before them. They aren’t afraid of the unknown path they are taking.
Heroes are brave people who overcome their own pride and insecurities to face the complex conditions presented to them. They put themselves on the front line to defend a moral cause. Dr. Martin King Jr. is an example of a hero because of his bravery for speaking out against racism during a time when this was considered very dangerous. He kept fighting because he believed it was something that had to be done for the good of his race and the entire country. He con...
Some definitions of heroes are people, who have noble qualities, and put the lives of others before their own life. They are expected to be reasonable and calm, during scary times, like when a shooting is going on, looking out for
Heroes are ordinary people who do unbelievable things. Heroes are people who stand up for what they know is right no matter the consequences. Most of all, heroes are men and women who see an opportunity for change and seize it. They use these opportunities to not only make things right, but to make things happen.
What makes someone a hero? A hero isn’t a celebrity or someone who can fly, have super speed, or shoot lasers out of their eyes. A hero is just an ordinary citizen that fights to solve a widespread issue in today’s society. A hero is an ordinary individual who rises to the occasion and fights the issues with superhero behavior, without the actual super powers. A hero is someone just similar to everyone else, but when they see a problem they have the bravery to step up and fix it without thinking twice. In the United States, a hero is someone whose character and qualities inspire others to live in life with fulfillment and compassion.
Heroes are made by the paths they choose, not the powers they are graced with.” -Brodi Ashton. This shines true but is overlooked in today's society . A hero in today's society clashes with the genuine meaning of hero. A hero is someone who is sacrificial, selfless, and modest. A hero is somebody who is bold and valiant and to a great degree dedicated to something. A hero is a selfless individual who puts and the needs of others before their without seeking any attention for fame. A heroic person is prepared to yield his/her life for society and for what is best for the people. These qualities are constant throughout time. They may change a little bit depending on the society's values. Some heroes throughout history are Odysseus, Stephen Kumalo,
A hero is a person who is admired because of who they are. They do not have to possess physical strength and power. The strength and power of a hero is in the will to endure, to overcome to the point they inspire and encourage. They don't have to be active. A passive hero speaks abundance when it comes to the essence of a hero. A hero does not have to be famous nor possess abundance of money. A hero makes due with what they have and their status comes by way of being a leader and motivating others to make a positive change in life. A hero has many faces, attributes, and abundance of inspiration.
Stories were being told, except we weren’t sure if they were true. Rumours were spreading about how the Taliban treated people, but time went by and nothing changed. When the world started to fall silent, Malala Yousafzai, with all her courage and strength, spoke up. She has suffered for doing that, but she doesn’t regret it. Every word she says is expressed with concern. She knows that even her small voice, can and has, changed the world. Malala Yousafzai is a young activist from Swat Valley, Pakistan. In my opinion she is one of the most influential people living and that’s why I’m going to talk about her struggle, her accomplishments and what she wants and will try to change until the day she dies.
Hero. Usually when this word is heard we think of Superman, Batman, Iron man and so on, but in reality what exactly is a hero? Who can be classified as heroic? From my perspective a hero is not only someone who wears a cape, has superhuman strength, wears fancy clothes or someone who saves his lady from the bad guy; however he is someone who stands for strength, bravery, humbleness, justice and equality. I believe a hero is someone who truly intends to make the world a better place for all people. He stands for what he believes in even though he may encounter danger and obstacle. We often watch movies with action heroes fighting for a good cause, but these heroes cause us ignore the real life heroes such as Cesar Chavez and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Cesar Chavez and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr are genuinely the definition of a hero.
What is a hero exactly; does anyone actually know? Is it required for a hero to die for their cause? Are they destined to risk their lives? What is a hero? A hero is a man or woman who has done or is helping others. These people are not needed to die for their causes; they can live peaceful and calm lives. A hero has to change something for the better of humanity or for the world. A hero can be someone who nurtures an injured baby bird back to health. Someone who serves to protect his or her country. An inventor can be a hero as long as they are not trying to take over the world. Anyone can be a hero. They just have to put themselves forward and try to put an effort to help. Percy Lavon Julian was an inspiration to all black people. He showed them that they can accomplish anything they strive for. He did this through his discoveries in science and
When we were kids, we all had that one person we looked up to. Whether it was a princess, a celebrity, a fictional superhero, or a family member, we gave this person the title “hero.” We selected these people to be our heroes because they had specific qualities like bravery, strength, and intelligence, but not all heroes are required to have these qualities. A hero is someone who, based on perspective, can be found almost anywhere because they make sacrifices and do actions for the better of others.
Throughout the years, being a hero and the ideals of heroism have been subject to many changes. Many cultures differ on their views of what it takes to be a “hero.” Such as how The Odyssey by Homer, The Ramayana, and the present day have a view on heroes. Today we look up to our men in uniform and ordinary lay people, but as children we would marvel at the abilities of the “knights in shining armor” and idolize them as our heroes. With all these different beliefs it all brings us back to one question, what makes someone a hero? Meriam Webster…defines a hero “as a person who is admired for great or brave acts or fine qualities”.
When someone is characterized as a hero they are often someone, who is very selfless, brave and is of distinguished valor. They challenge people to some how or another follow in their footsteps, and are often models to our society. Often inspiring and showing them that no matter what they should reach for the stars. Hero's strive to find the best in people and not just in them.
