The book the and the movie City of Ember are great with lots of emotion and excitement. Jeanne Duprau is the author of the book, were comparing and contrasting the book the City of Ember and the movie the City of Ember. The book is about the main characters Lina and Doon that are 12 years old and want to find an exit out of Ember. The City of Ember is underground the world with lights everywhere so they can see and sometimes the lights go out and everyone worries they will not come back on. The City of Ember has many similarities and differences between the novel and the film; however the film was a more entertaining experience.

Of these two books only one comes out and realizes that what they have gone through was not a cruse but some what a blessing from God, Himself. In the book “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and the movie “Tom and Huck” there are many similarities and differences having to do with the characters personalities, the setting, the characters relationships with one another and the events that take place.
There are many major similarities and differences between the book and movie forms of the Secret Life of Bees. Three similarities are that in the movie and the book, June and Lily grew to love each other in the same way, Lily and T-Ray’s relationship was the same and the reason Lily ran away from him was the same, and finally, Lily and Rosaleen have the same relationship. Three major differences between the two forms of the Secret Life of Bees are that T-Ray finds Lily and Rosaleen in a different way in the movie than in the book, there is no Mary Day celebration or vigil in the movie, and finally, in the book, Lily narrates how she is feeling and what she is thinking. On the other hand, she does not do this in the movie. When you read a book, you can start to imagine things that’s going on in the book like imagining someone sitting on a chair or running through a field, but watching a film shows the audience what the filmmakers want them to see. Both the movie and the book are basically based on family and relationships. The characters in the movie and the book, For example Einar, jean, Griff, and Lila and her parents all deal with loss of a family member.
Two men with two different ways of life are connected through a time period and these two words: determination and dedication. Erik Larson does a great job developing these two characters in The Devil in the White City. On one hand, Daniel Burnham is trying to build the world’s fair in Chicago, on the other H.H. Holmes is a dedicated doctor who is determined to open a hotel for the world 's fair. Burnham is determined and works diligently to get the job done, and he won’t stop for any reason. Holmes driven dedication towards this isn’t for the common reason of making money, but instead he wants to create a safe place that he can murder people. The major difference is that Burnham choose the better path, so he was able to help others in the process. Burnham gave a blank canvas to so many inventors and creators, so that they could change the way things are viewed in the world. These two men show the opposite ends of the spectrum, which is why we have different results caused by their determination and dedication.
Foreshadowing is used in many of Charles Dickens' novels. It can bring about a sense of wonder and imagination of what might occur later in the novel. The conceopt of foreshadowing means to present a warning sign, or hint beforehand. Dickens is able to use this concept in three examples. The threatening footsteps in the Manette home, Gaspard's illustration of "blood," and Mr. Lorry's dream of brinnging a man back to life, are all examples of warning or foreshadowing. that Dickens' uses in his novel A Tale of Two Cities.

“The Legend of Sleepy Hollow”, one of the most classic books of all time, written by Washington Irving, was remade into a movie in 1999 by Director Tim Burton. Surprisingly there are many differences between the book and the movie, and little to no similarities. One of the major differences was that in the movie Tim Burton made Ichabod Crane a detective, while in the story he’s a nerdy teacher. Tim Burton did this to make the movie more interesting and for there to be a reason why Ichabod is so good at finding clues and solving the headless horseman case. Also they made Ichabod a little bit more brave in the movie so that there would be more action and drama in the movie. The book, "Being There," is about a man named Chance, who is forced to move out of the house he lived in his whole life and his experience in the outside world. Based on the success of the book, the movie, "Being There," was made. The author of the book, Jerzy Kosinski, also wrote the screenplay for the movie. I think the major difference between the book and the movie is that in the book, we get to read what Chance is feeling and thinking, but in the movie, we only get to see his actions.
