In the City of Eaganville, many jobs were created with the introduction of manufacturing facilities in the early 1900’s. The job landscape in the area began changing after World War II. With less need for manufacturing facilities and a growing need for the service industry, large office complexes began to sprout up on Eaganville – all constructed by the Anderson family’s business – Anderson Construction Inc. Chicago in the 1920s was a turning point for the development of ethnic neighborhoods. After the opening of the first rail connection from New York to Chicago in the 1840s, immigration sky rocketed from that point on. Majority of the immigrants to Chicago were Europeans. The Irish, Italians, eastern European Jews, Germans, and Mexicans were among the most common ethnicities to reside in Chicago. These groups made up the greater part of Chicago. The sudden increase in immigration to Chicago in the 1920s soon led to an even further distinguished separation of ethnicities in neighborhoods. The overall development of these neighborhoods deeply impacted how Chicago is sectioned off nowadays. Without these ethnicities immigrating to Chicago almost 100 years ago, Chicago neighborhoods would not be as culturally defined and shaped as they are today.

Some of these included day care, elder programs, music classes, and afterschool programs. It was founded in 1982 and was set up in an old schoolhouse. The City of Toronto is very diverse in terms of culture, financial and social status. Due to having such a diverse society Toronto has to address all aspects and levels of its citizens. Toronto as a whole does a good job at creating centers and recreational programs which accept and target all people but it seems to not be enough. Youth violence has been a problem in Toronto for as long as one can remember. To address it Toronto has done a lot lawfully and protective wise but to go to the roots is the way to fix it. If Youth violence was addressed through crating more forms of public recreation the youth would have ways to express themselves and feel more confident lessening the level of lashing out. Throughout the 1900s, the African American citizens and visitors to Detroit, Michigan faced discriminatory treatment by the white citizens of Detroit and the surrounding areas. As a means of lessening the unfair treatment of African Americans, several groups, including the Detroit Urban League, were organized to increase the welfare and decrease the negative actions toward and hatred of the African American people of Detroit. The Detroit Urban League focused on the involvement and incorporation of African American adults and youth in the workplace, housing, and education settings of Detroit.

There are many examples of cities reforming itself over time, one significant example is Vancouver's Downtown Eastside. More than a hundred years after the discovery of gold that drew thousands of migrants to Vancouver, the city has changed a lot, and so does one of its oldest community: Downtown Eastside. Began as a small town for workers that migrants frequently, after these workers moved away with all the money they have made, Downtown Eastside faced many hardships and changes. As a city, Vancouver gave much support to improve the area’s living quality and economics, known as a process called gentrification. But is this process really benefiting everyone living in Downtown Eastside? The answer is no. Gentrification towards DTES(Downtown Eastside) did not benefit the all the inhabitants of the area. Reasons are the new rent price of the area is much higher than before the gentrification, new businesses are not community-minded, and the old culture and lifestyle of the DTES is getting erased by the new residents.

They brought new ideas, new methods, and new fabrication to the city. Thousands migrated to the inner city for the numerous automotive manufacturing jobs being offered. Ford had presented “Five Dollars a Day Jobs.” He was offering eager workers top dollar for their work input. The news of Ford’s proposal spread like a wildfire through the American population, by means of newspaper, and constant chatter. African Americans retreated to the North to leave the suppressing, segregated South. Poles, Germans, and other European groups also rushed to Detroit to grab their share of work. Henry Ford required an immense working force to run his industrial empire. In essence, they all migrated to Detroit seeking economic opportunity and a stable living. From here, manufacturing and growth could only get enriched.
