Abstract :
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome is a complicated disease that classified as a dangerous one. The common symptom of this disease is the tiredness or exhaustion that stays in the body for at least six months. The cause of CFS is not clear yet, but viruses, abnormalities in the immune system, and hormonal imbalance might cause CFS. The Diagnosis process is not based on a certain test that done in the lab then the result can be taken directly, but it based on tracking some diagnostic criteria which are severe fatigue, reduction In the activity levels, and some symptoms of CFS like sore throat and sleep disorder. The treatment is also mysterious until now, but the treatment will be easier by treating its cause if the doctor knows the cause of

World Health Organization (WHO) classifies it as a dangerous disease and its main cause is unknown yet (2). This disease can hit all people but the chance of elderly people is higher than young. Women have the large percentage than men of being infected by this disease. Many doctors defined CFS by saying "it is a disorder characterized by a state of chronic fatigue that persists for more than six months, has no clear cause, and is accompanied by cognitive difficulties." (3). Chronic Fatigue Syndrome is dangerous and it has been termed as a syndrome because it is a combination or overlapping of many disorders together such as a headache, tired, and sleep disorder. It can be diagnosed by noticing the severe fatigue which is a continues tired that cannot get better even in the rest time. This tiredness should stay in the patient's body for six months at least to consider it as CFS condition. This disease has the ability to affect the person's life in a bad way. For example, it can prohibit the patient from running in his normal life and doing his tasks and work. There is no single …show more content…
CFS is a complicated disease as it doesn’t have any treatment (11). This kind of diseases is usually treated by cure their causes. However, there are some strategies that might treat the symptoms or reduce the pain. Eating a healthy food that riches of fibers, starch, and omega three, which is present in fish and oils is a good way to treat CFS (12). All these food can support the immune system and fight the pain. Doing exercise is also an important technique in treat CFS because many studies proved that patients who are doing exercise regularly have a good day function and less tired than those who don’t do (13). It is also important for the patients to manage their time between resting, activities, and sleep. Many studies have also said that patients with CFS should control their reaction and stay active as much as they can (14). If these strategies don’t improve the patient condition, especially in the severe one, the patient should ask his doctor about joining clinical
Cystic fibrosis is a genetic disease of the secretory glands that affects the respiratory and digestive system. It mainly effects the lungs, pancreas, liver, intestines, sinuses, and reproductive organs. Cystic fibrosis effects the cells that produce sweat, mucus, and digestive fluids. Mucus becomes thick and sticky causing build-up in the lungs and blocking airways; making it easier for bacteria to develop. This prompts repeated lung infections and can cause severe lung damage after some time. The thick mucus can also block ducts in the pancreas. Therefore, digestive enzymes can't reach the small intestine. Without the digestive compounds used to break down food, the intestines can't completely absorb vital supplements. CF also causes sweat to become salty. When patients with cystic fibrosis sweat, a large amount of salt is secreted, which can agitate the equalization of minerals in the blood and cause numerous health issues.
CF is a chronic condition therefore the patients are either seeking medical attention or receiving (sometime involuntarily) a great deal of medical scrutiny and intervention during their lifetime.
Inadequate rest which results in fatigue has major implications on the health and safety of registered nurses and can compromise patient care. Nurses often work three to four 12 hour shift a week without taking any breaks while on duty. They often have difficult workloads and challenges which can take a toll and impact patient care. I will be taking a look at nurse fatigue and the impact it has on the nurse’s wellbeing, work, and patient care.
In the Shadow of Illness, the book describes different experiences of families who have or had children with cystic fibrosis (CF). CF is an inherited disease that is passed on from the mother or father who is a carrier, but doesn’t have the condition. Doctors have figured that in this scenario, the parents are likely to have a child with CF. Individuals with CF have to take Cotazymes to help the pancreas digest food. If the person does not take these enzymes, the food goes straight through them as diarrhea. Also, the person’s lungs are affected by a thick mucus that must be removed or thinned before it clogs. Doctors recommend the patient to perform daily breathing exercises that prevent the mucus from thickening; for example, swimming

Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is a very common, potentially life threatening condition. The disease is caused by inheritance, and affects the exocrine glands of the patient. Cystic fibrosis is found primarily among Caucasians and those of European descent. Those diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis battle daily to perform simple tasks, such as breathing, as the mucus in their bodies thickens immensely. This mucus will potentially accumulate in the patient’s vital organs, such as the lungs, pancreas, and intestines. One can determine if he/she has cystic fibrosis by analyzing certain symptoms. Cystic Fibrosis can be diagnosed according to the symptoms the patient shows, and can be treated through specific types of treatments, such as gene therapy.

Many victims from the disorder may suffer from one of three types of insomnia: transient, short term, and chronic. Exams or fights may trigger transient insomnia and can continue for a handful of days; short term insomnia proceeds for less than three weeks and chronic insomnia may continue for a month or longer (Epstein). Chronic insomnia may outcome into long-term problems and may affect performances. After viewing the results of a survey, thirty to forty percent of the United States populations showed sporadically having insomnia, while ten to fifteen percent endured insomnia persistently. The National Sleep Foundation survey released that one indication was present in fifty-four percent of the population surveyed in 2005. Many people suffer from the different types of the common disorder.
Upon concluding my neurobiology course, I spent some time reflecting on what I've learned about the nervous system and its functions. I thought about how much progress has been made in the last couple of decades alone in defining and understanding certain aspects of neuronal functions, and must admit that I am very impressed. However, there is still so much we don't know about this area, and nowhere has this notion proved more true than in my exploration of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. As will soon be clear, this disease is highly debilitating and can greatly lower the quality of an individual's life, yet to date there are no definite findings about the etiology of this illness. But even more importantly, this illness shows the importance of understanding and being able to assess the different workings of our nervous system and its complex nature. Unfortunately, the study of this same disease also shows the human inability to yet do so.
There are several immediate causes of fatigue that pilots encounter. An immediate cause of pilot exhaustion is simply the pilot not getting sufficient hours of sleep. “This is not a 9-to-5 job, being an airline pilot, and how common is it to be flying when you really haven't had a night's sleep for many, many hours, and frankly, when you might be more tired than you should be?” (Were Crash Pilots…) Moreover, a pilot’s demanding expectations concerning paperwork and admin duties are also partly to blame. “A pilot’s exhaustion caused by his heavy administrative workload…contributed to the fatal crash of...
In today’s busy lifestyle, human being is so busy that he does not get time to sleep properly. And that’s why so many diseases encircle him.
Cystic fibrosis, also known as CF, affects over 30,000 children and adults world-wide. CF is a disease in the lungs and digestive system and is still incurable today. It is a disease that causes thick, abnormal mucus in the lungs, nasal polyps, fatigue, and can also damage organs in a person’s body. According to www.cff.org/aboutcf, over 70% of CF patients are diagnosed at two years of age. Cystic fibrosis is one of the most life-threatening diseases in the United States and is very common amongst chronic diseases. Cystic fibrosis is most commonly diagnosed in young children and sometimes adults.
The clinical manifestation one may see in patients with chronic bronchitis are chronic cough, weight loss, excessive sputum, and dyspnea. Chronic cough is from the body trying to expel the excessive mucus build up to return breathing back to normal. Dyspnea is from the thickening of the bronchial walls causing constriction, thereby altering the breathing pattern. This causes the body to use other surrounding muscles to help with breathing which can be exhausting. These patients ca...
Undiagnosed heart disease can also be a major cause of fatigue for women, so if you can no longer do the type of exercise that you used to, or your fatigue gets worse with physical exertion, make sure that you get to a doctor.
