Christopher Columbus , was born before 31 of October in the republic of genoa , but actually the exact place is still unknown . Christopher was the son of Domenico Colombo whom was a wool weaver, worked in Genoa and Savona . His father also owned a cheese stand in which Christopher used to work at and his mother was Susanna Fontanarossa . He Had three brothers Bartolomeo, Giovanni Pellegrino, and Giacomo and a sister Bianchinetta. Christopher also used to work in a cartography workshop in Lisbon when he was young . In 1470 his family moved to Savona , Christopher was working on a Genoese ship for René I of Anjou to help him to defeat the Kingdom Of Naples. In 1473 Christopher started working with the Spinola families and Centurione, Di Negro in Genoa .Then he went on a trip to Chios in the Aegean Sea . In May 1476 , he participated in the armed convoy of Cargo to move an important load to Northern Europe . Then he anchored in Bristol , England in and Galway in Ireland . In 1477 Columbus was on a ship that’s heading from Galway to Lisbon , where he actually met his brother Bartolomeo . And continued working for the Centurione family . Then Christopher settled in Lisbon from 1477 to 1485 . He married Filipa Moniz Perestrelo , whom was the daughter of Porto Santo a Portuguese nobleman . In 1479 or 1480 Diego Columbus his son was born . Between 1482 and 1485 Christopher started trading on the coast of West Africa . There were some records suggesting that his wife Filipa died in 1485 or that he may have actually left his wife. Christopher then travelled to Castile in 1485 , and also in the same year he found a 20-year-old mistress called , Beatriz Enríquez de Arana . Christopher learned many languages , Latin, Portuguese, and Ca... ... middle of paper ... ...e Canary Islands , the fleet was separated into two floats . Three ships were sailing to Hispaniola , in order to give supplies to the colonists and three other ships to explore the south . The fleet was seen by Doldrums , in Africa they spend eight days and arrived in the West indies . The fleet saw an island in the West at night , which he named it Trinidad as it had three hills . His crew were the first to see South America, they found water in Trinidad on the Gulf Of Paria . Also Columbus believed that the earth was round but later he discovered that it actually had a pear shape with a rise . After Columbus had explored the coast , he decided to head to Hispaniola on North course . On the 19th of August , 1498 . A flow of people arrived in the city of Santo Domingo found that the continued feud against Columbus rule was still going . But then it was resolved
