Whether it was as a six-year-old pretending to be a church worship leader with play microphones or last summer begging God for energy to finish scooping ice cream for the ever expanding line at the eatery, Jesus has always been a part of my life. From the beginning, the Lord began a good work in me, and I fully believe he will one day bring it to perfect completion. At age three, I started attending AWANA, a children's Bible memorization ministry. Being a shy little girl, who often kept to herself, provided me extra time to ponder everything I heard. A few years later, after listening to the leaders telling me the importance of inviting Jesus into my life, I prayed and asked Christ to be the Savior and Lord of my life. I was only six years old, not fully realizing the magnitude of what Christ would require of me, but my commitment to him was sincere. My spiritual life in elementary and middle school included AWANA, Sunday School, Children's Church, Vacation Bible School, and daily Bible time. Although I anticipate it will continue to grow wherever I attend college, I believe Crown is a place where I will thrive. During my Fall Preview Day visit, I experienced a community which will truly care about my relationship with Christ. I was impressed with the way Christ was brought into each activity of the day. When I visited Professor Bouchard's class on children's literature, I especially appreciated the way he began the class with prayer and asked spiritual questions related to the concepts of the class. Furthermore, at Crown, I trust I will be surrounded by a community that supports me and helps me grow deeper in my faith. Receiving an education grounded in truth will enable me to graduate "prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks [me] to give the reason for the hope that [I] have." (1 Peter 3:15
