On a warm Monday night I had the opportunity to visit the Choctaw Casino resort. The Choctaw Casino resort consists of two large hotel towers with other various buildings surrounding the towers. I had the opportunity to go in the evening when the towers were lit up changing between various colors. The outside was decorated in a very modern style. Since it was a Monday, there was not a very big crowd there. The first place that my group walked into was the newest edition to the resort. This new section was more of a family friendly area. This area consisted of an arcade, movie theater, laser tag zone, and bowling alley. I was surprised to see the amount of kids in the arcade on a Monday night. It wasn’t until later that night when we were about On the way I noticed that all of the hotel rooms and service desk were all in a small corner by the front entrance. It seems like there is more of an emphasis on the casino business than the resort portion. The oasis was very easy to get in to, because I didn’t even need a room key. The oasis was very beautiful. There were two main pools. One was heated and it was half indoors and half out. The second was much larger with small waterfalls surrounding it and other scenery. It was starting to get dark at this point, but the pool area was lit up with various lights and torches. There was a few people who were out there enjoying the pool. From where I was standing I could look up and see both of the Choctaw tower and I thought it was very picturesque. We wanted to visit the newest tower, but none of us could find our way over there so we decided our expedition was over. After seeing the casino, I realize now how the Choctaw nation has been able to expand using the money it has acquired from its entertainment business. I cannot fathom what the Choctaw could possibly do to expand this business any farther than it already

They prefer to achieve economic independence on their own, hopefully reducing the chances of being taken advantage of again. Only six full-blooded Tigua remain, and they still plow and keep their traditional lands. They continue to teach children and grandchildren how to be Tigua.
Resorts are expected to have hotel rooms that make their guest feel like they are at home. The Great Wolf Lodge goes “above and beyond” expectations in this area. The on-site hotel has 605 guest rooms. The Choctaw Indians were an important tribe, and the largest of the Muskogean tribes. The Choctaws have two stories about their origins in their traditional homeland in central Mississippi. One is that their ancestors came from west of the Mississippi River and settled in what is now the homeland. The other is that the tribe is descended from ancestors who were formed by a spirit from the damp earth of Nanih Waiyah, a large mound in northeastern Mississippi. Either way, the Choctaws resided in places, holding most of Southern Alabama and Mississippi with adjoining parts of Louisiana.

Well, the small city of Yuma, Arizona, that overlooks the Colorado River, has had so much history that takes us back to the late 1800’s to early 1900’s. Back in 1875, one extreme prison facility opened its doors. This prison would later be an important part of Yuma. The Yuma Territorial Prison was so extreme that not the residents around it, but the own prisoners called it a “hell hole” because of its strong, dry weather, and of how they treated them!
