Chipotle opened the first restaurant in Denver as a casual fast food restaurant in 1993, Chipotle Mexican Grill was founded by Steve Ells who at the time was graduate at culinary Institute of America. Chipotle Mexican Grill offers a menu of a variety of food items which mostly are burritos and tacos, Chipotle is located in many parts of the world, not only is Chipotle doing business in US, but also in Canada and UK. Similarities and differences between their characteristics depends on many factors. Usually, fast food restaurants offer a simple and cheaper options to their customers, but these two restaurants are looking at a new approach, providing consumers with higher quality meals. Chipotle and Rubio’s provide consumers with freshly prepared, high quality food as more and more customers are demanding healthier fast food, Chipotle's food pricing is similar to other restaurants such as Rubio’s. A burrito at Chipotle’s runs around $7.00. and this could be more or less depending on how much a person likes the unique taste and flavor of their specialty burritos and other items. On the other hand, Rubio’s prices are overall fair and reasonable, for example fish tacos which you will get a choice to pick from two different tacos and have them with pinto beans for $8.99. Chipotle’s is known for using high quality natural and organic ingredients in its food, so Chipotle prices are usually more expensive than most other fast food restaurants, while Chipotle’s menu is composed of not as many items as Rubio’s, but mainly because Rubio Coastal Grill recently has added more seafood and lobster to the
