Geography
Chile is a country where climates can vary from city to city. There are many touristic attractions that can range from Atacama’s Desert in Bloom to the volcanic peaks of the Andes Mountains. There are multitude of places that can offer great adventures and long lasting memories.
The long, thin country of Chile stretches 2,700 miles along the southeastern coast of South America. This distance is roughly the same if one traveled in a straight line from North Carolina to California. This being said, the country’s widest point does not exceed 150 miles, making the country close to 19 times longer than its width. The factor that makes Chile so slender is the massive Andes Mountains where some peaks range over 20,000 feet high.

This region is occupied by very prosperous vineyards and farms. And to the south of Santiago the Lake District is located, where indigenous people, the Araucanians, make their homeland.
