Ryan Martin is an eleven-year-old Caucasian male who was referred to the S.A.F.E Family Strengthening Program by Charmaine Hamilton, Child Protective Investigator from the Broward County Sherriff’s Office, in order to receive therapeutic services due to allegations of inappropriate sexual behaviors. Specifically, it was alleged in July of 2016, Ryan forced Kassandra to perform oral sex on him. It was reported that both children were alone in Kassandra’s bedroom with the door closed when Ryan was caught pulling his pants up. Additionally, reports indicated both children had taken turns performing oral sex on each other in the past. According to the referral report, Ryan would “lick” Kassandra’s private area, while Kassandra would do the same. Records further indicated Ryan would be secretive when the alleged incidents were occurring between he and his sister, Kassandra. There were no use of coercions or bribes and no other victims. The alleged incident was done on at least two occasions. Ryan and his mother participated in an initial intake session, which was completed in the Coral Springs offices of Juliana Gerena, Psy.D., P.A. & Associates. Information in this report was obtained from a semi-structured interview with the youth and his mother, review of the referral information, review of records, behavioral observation, and completion of assessment measures. BACKGROUND INFORMATION & CURRENT CONCERNS: A referral was made for counseling services to address inappropriate sexual behaviors. According to the CIPS abuse report (FSFN#:2016-19412501), in July of 2016, Ryan allegedly “forced” Kassandra to suck his wiener. Reports indicated that Ryan and Kassandra was caught in Kassandra’s bedroom, alone, while his mother had steeped ou... ... middle of paper ... ...havior started at two-years of age, when it took her over fifty times, over a course of an hour to keep redirecting and placing Ryan back into his seat before he understood her orders. She noted that Ryan becomes angry and will sometimes fight with his brothers. Reportedly, Mrs. Martin indicated that Ryan’s anger outbursts last for a short while, depending on the situation. She stated that he attempts to calm himself down by screaming and yelling. Mrs. Martin reported as a result of the allegations, Ryan and his sister are not allowed to play or spend time together unsupervised. She indicated that she has placed alarms and passcodes every bedroom doors and is aware whenever the children leave their room. The mother also asserted she was recommended to seek therapeutic interventions for which is why she has agreed to allow him to participate in the SAFE program.
