Heart attack, a common symptom of a cardiovascular disease is a very dangerous and fatal disease. Specifically a heart attack is when the coronary artery to the heart is blocked by a plague that's built up in the veins, thus stopping the blood flow to the heart, and can lead to heart muscle cell death. Notoriously known to affect people of an older variety, and the number one killer in the world. Heart attacks are a disease to be extremely wary of because: everyone will eventually be susceptible to it; although some ethnicities are more prone to have heart attacks everyone will eventually grow old and be just as vulnerable, a heart attack is sudden and can be difficult to distinguish without a prior experience, and is becomes difficult for one to get help themselves if they so happen to become a victim of a heart attack; during a heart attack, time is of the essence, a minute could mean the difference between life, death, coma, brain damage, heart damage, and even paralysis if the heart attack triggers a stroke.
Alternate names of a heart attack include: Myocardial infarction, MI, Acute myocardial infarction, AMI, Acute coronary syndrome, Coronary thrombosis, Coronary occlusion, and cardiac arrest. However, all of those terms are commonly used to refer to a heart attack, it is vital to note that cardiac arrest and a heart attack are two separate diseases/occurrences. As said earlier, a heart attack is when tissue is damaged from blood loss because of plague in the arteries, whereas, cardiac arrest is when the electrical system in the heart malfunctions. Please keep in mind these distinct differences when proceeding forward in this document.

Heart attacks are is a very dangerous disease. It’s caused by the buildup of plaque in the arteries, and the prevention of blood flow to essential organs. Cardiac arrest is often mistaken for heart attacks which put more people at risk, because ignorance is no defense for a heart attack. The symptoms are also not to be dealt with lightly since severe discomfort, heartburn, and lightheadedness can occur; on the flip side the side effects are even worse with severe damage to the heart and brain, coma, or even death as a result. But with modern knowledge and understanding of a heart attack, one should know that eating healthy, getting proper sleep, avoiding tobacco, exercising, and getting informed by health screening is the key to being proactive and preventing a heart attack.
