Career as a Chemical Engineer
If you were to never look up the definition of chemical engineering you would still have a slightly basic idea of what they deal with: chemistry and engineering. This is one of the main reasons why I want a career in chemical engineering. I have been fascinated with studying in a field of science for as long as I can remember. At first I only planned on majoring in chemistry, but as I grew older and learned more about math and science I decided that chemical engineering is what I actually want to major in and work with until I retire.
There are many different ways I can help people by being a chemical engineer. Chemical engineers work in various fields that can include tasks such as making sure that a production

People who have majored in chemical engineering don’t always become engineers. Instead some jobs that they end up doing instead are energy engineer, nuclear engineer, petroleum engineer, and process development scientist since these are directly related to a chemical engineering degree. Some jobs where the degree would be more useful to have are analytical chemist, energy manager, manufacturing engineer, materials engineer, mining engineer, production manager, and quality manager.
People who actually become chemical engineers usually focus on researching, developing, and designing chemical productions. They also test product techniques and materials and may use computer models to figure out the efficiency of a product, or a person may end up managing equipment, overseeing and conducting the disposal of chemical waste, and handling inspections. The longer an individual works at a company the more managing roles he or she acquires such as training new employees and making sure all the chemical products adhere to the health, environmental, and safety principles. Typically chemical engineers work between thirty-five and forty hours a week from nine to

From producing genetically engineered food that we eat to helping make new phones, to manufacturing things such as dyes, plastics, and fertilizers. I also learned that people who are chemical engineers and people who have a degree in chemical engineering can have different jobs. I originally thought that if you got a degree in chemical engineering that meant you were going to become a chemical engineer. This field is the exact thing that I want to do so it can help me fuel my passion for life by being a goal that I have to meet. Since it’s a goal that I have to and want to meet it will boost my resolve to succeed in school and beyond onto to college and a job. I will be working hard to meet my objective and will still be working diligently even when I meet it so that I can uphold the reputation I will have built.
After researching this field, I did realize that I may not be as cut out for it as I first thought, but that only means that I will have to work harder to achieve what I want which is okay since I am still interested in pursuing this career. The reason why I am still interested in pursuing this field is because even though there is a lot more math and social skills involved than what I originally thought, I still feel like this is the career I want to do. This is what I want to spend the next 50 years or so being a part
Chemists are the specialists in chemistry, that interact with chemical properties, and reactions. The earth is made up of different gases. Some of this gases are needed for life in the planet but other gases can be harmful to the living. Gas’s use in regular quantities are favorable to the earth. The world started to become more advance and had to use more of this gases to produce everyday objects and inventions by men. Little did we knew this chemicals we going to affect us in our life. Chemist Jose Mario Molina actually discovered that chlorofluorocarbons were affecting the ozone layer.

Ever since I began studying science and mathematics at all levels of educations I have always had an interest in the production of useful materials. In the growing turmoil of today; a world full of global warming and diminishing resources, questions often arise in my mind such as, "can we make a more efficient, more durable and a renewable resource that will overshadow fossil fuels? and have less of an impact on our environment?" Up to now, I have not found a solution to these questions and answering these questions is a personal aspiration of mine which I aim to fulfil by achieving a degree in Chemical engineering and eventually I will contribute to the field in my own unique way. The debate surrounding sustainable energy fascinates me, having recently learned from personal research I have understood what an authoritative role chemists and chemical engineers play in the industry at the present time and how, by working as a team, they contribute to an improved future for the whole world. However, one of the main reasons that has single-mindedly driven me this far to want to study chemical engineering is a book I have read, “Beyond the Molecular Frontier: Challenges for Chemistry and Chemical Engineering” While reading this book, I had solidified my understandings of what chemical engineering is all about. Also, one of the main processes mentioned was polymerisation and is something I already study in A-level chemistry, it is something that not only interests me, but is a personal career aspiration of mine. Reading this book gave me a determination to be the person who helps improve the future of the industry and provide an answer to the questions I always ask myself by studying this degree.
Chemistry is “the science that deals with the composition and properties of substances and various elementary forms of matter”. There are five branches of chemistry. There is organic chemistry, analytical chemistry, physical chemistry, inorganic chemistry, and biochemistry. We are affected by chemistry everyday. Whether it is the air we breathe or what is in soil, chemistry is everywhere. You can get various careers that involve the use of chemistry. You can be a forensic chemist, a geochemist, or even a food chemist. They each are unique in their very own way and require different abilities.
History of Alchemy Alchemy has a long history that’s full of legends, mysteries and romance. When we think of alchemy, we picture eerie laboratories with alchemists hunched over glowing furnaces and cauldrons, mixing unknown chemicals and powders together. These otherworldly scenes are what attract us to alchemy’s mysteries. Its
There are many topics that can relate to chemistry and that involves the use of chemistry to make them what they are. Such as, chemistry giving an understanding to religion, the past history of chemistry that was used and discovered from long ago chemists or scientists. Chemistry using literature in ways of explaining principles, recording, arguments and relationships. Mathematics is also, involved with chemistry using calculations, numbers, units, dimensions and statistics. Especially, in nowadays life style, electronics are the main use of technology and yes, chemistry is actually used in the making of these devices.

The word engineer comes from the latin word ingeniare. ingeniare means construct or craftsmanship. Ever since the beginning of time we have had engineers. Engineering is the combination of math and science , solving world problems to help better the world around us. Being an engineer takes a lot of knowledge, creativity, and hard work. A typical engineer can clearly see a problem and is capable of fining a solution. A senior engineer or engineering manager usually doesnt do as much technical work, but usally lot of managing. Some of the first official engineers were military engineers. They were employed by the goverment to build such things as roads, bridges, and weapons. US mililary Academy at Westpoint was the first school to offer an education in enginnering. Engineering is a very broad field. Engineers are always at a high demand, we could never have enough brilliant minds making the world better. Engineers are needed everywhere. Engineering managers have to have a bachelor's degree or higher, they usually direct and seek solutions to problems and are sometimes called executi...
The various processes and concepts involved in industries responsible for the production of innumerable day to day goods have always captured my fascination. The production and processing of chemicals form the crux of such industries. What started as a fascination has turned into a passion, and the next step in this journey is why i am aspiring towards a Master of Science degree in CHEMICAL ENGINEERING at PENN ENGINEERING specializing in {Specialization}.
Though many people fail to realize it, chemistry is a subject essential to everyday life, due to the fact that it is the branch of science that deals with the identification of the substances of which matter is composed. But what we must understand is that everything in the universe is composed of matter, hence chemistry is necessary in learning more about the world and universe that we live in. There are many careers and fields affiliated with chemistry that people pursue to learn more about the composition of the universe, but for now, let us examine the logistics of three of these careers. These three careers involving chemistry are geochemistry, environmental chemistry, and chemical engineering.
Having a degree in chemistry opens the door to a wide array of careers. These jobs include chemical engineer, analytical chemist, and pharmacologist. The job that has me most interested is a Chemical Engineer. These top of the line engineers turn raw materials into useful products. They can make petrochemicals,
I am currently taking Maths, Chemistry and Biology to Advanced Higher, all of which are challenging and stimulating subjects. They have all influenced me in different ways and were integral in my decision to pursue a degree in Chemical Engineering. They have also helped me obtain a foundation of core skills and extended knowledge to hopefully prepare me undertaking my desired degree. Chemical engineering is the branch of science that deals with both the physical and life aspects of science, and it is used in a lot of industries. It consists of designing, building, and using machinery to create something. The people that are part of this field “use chemistry to bridge the gap between scientific invention and manufactured goods” (College Board). Engineering covers a very broad range of fields, but three job titles related to it include biomedical engineering, aerospace engineering, and nuclear engineering. Aerospace engineers deal with designing and building engines that fly, whether it be in the sky or beyond it. Nuclear engineers develop machines that work with and benefit from the use of radiation and nuclear energy. Biomedical
Bachelor’s degree chemical engineers usually have their first job related to chemical, pharmaceutical, or biotech operations (Chemical Engineering Degrees & Careers | How to Become a Chemical Engineer. n.d.). This work may be in the field or in an office. Some young engineers work for contracting firms and may be involved in plant design, start-up, troubleshooting, or validation (“FAQs, Chemical Engineering”, n.d.). There are many career paths you can choose once you obtain a chemical engineering degree. Some fields of work for chemical engineers include: Chemical Process Industries (CPI)- Designing and operating reactors, processes, and systems to combine, transport, separate, and recycle chemicals; Biotechnology-Using living cells, cell materials and biological techniques to produce antibiotics, insulin, recombinant DNA, artificial organs, techniques for medical, environmental and nutritional improvements, among other things; Food and Drugs; Advanced Materials-employed in the Aerospace, Automotive, Electronics, Minerals and Imaging sectors to design and control production of advanced polymers, ceramics and hybrid materials for improved performance; Environment, Health and Safety- Every process involving chemicals produces some by-products, and Chemical Engineers control these variables through process monitoring and control, efficient and safe process design, waste treatment, environmental impact studies, etc.;
Chemist performs laboratory and field tests to monitor the environment and investigate sources of pollutions. A job as a water purification chemist falls under the broader career category of environmental science and protections. Water purification chemists must be comfortable working in a laboratory setting as well as in the field, and they must be comfortable communicating their findings and opinions to others.
