The US is facing numerous threats to its world superpower status, with the biggest threat being China. China is trying to use every available opportunity to further its own end at the expense of the US. According to the Foreign Intelligence Threat Analysis, China poses wide scale threats of superseding the U.S both economically and military wise. Although China is closing the economic gap between her and the U.S, it is nowhere close in terms of military spending. This essay seeks to give an in-depth Foreign Intelligence Entity (FEI) Threat Analysis of the United States, with special emphasis on the threat from China.
In an attempt to keep abreast of the happenings in the U.S, China is playing spy games like never before. It takes up every available opportunity to rival the U.S, and with a series of mind games, try through all available means to destabilize it and surpass it as the world’s superpower. One of the major incidents that revealed the extent of military threat posed to the U.S was when ten Asian men showed up at the U.S Wyoming missile base on September 3, 2012. This is one of the most protected facilities in the U.S, and for these individuals to have driven straight into the facility, evading all the check points, goes to show how vulnerable the U.S could be. It is the strongest signal yet that the country is under serious military threat, showing how other countries could be conspiring to bring the U.S down to its feet (Gertz, September 2012).

China is also posing a threat to U.S in terms of counter space weapons. This shows that America’s reliance on satellite as a military strength is coming under threat. Satellites give the US and other nations an edge over its adversaries. According to Stoke development of anti-satellite weapons, one of China’s priorities is to have elaborate satellite coverage and improve its counter space weapons.
In conclusion, the FEI threat analysis of the U.S reveals serious threats from China. These threats are real, and the U.S needs to address them so as to maintain its super power status. If not addressed, the U.S could find itself leapfrogging China in the every aspect.
