The drastic changes that were occurring at this division have everyone confused and uncertain of their future. They do not want to be involved in any decisions regarding the company, due to they never had before. This has affected their effectiveness for the whole as a team. EX: When asked to come up with solutions to the many problems, no one person has a solution, but only wants to blame the others. The lacking of empowerment over the division has depleted the team support. The management team is not working together as a whole. The retiring of Ben Wedemeyer has caused a lot of disruption among the team. They don’t understand why? The team is not used to being included in the everyday business, due to Charlie’s grandfather making all the decisions regarding business at the company. Consequently Charlie would benefit from the resources of his grandfather, which could result in handling the company’s problems more efficiently.

Identify communication problems that have contributed to the conflict between Principal Varber and Associate Principal Howard. I found several communication issues between Principal Varber and Associate Principal Howard. First, Principal Varber spent a substantial amount of time away from campus. Although, in the beginning it was clear that the reason for his employment was to improve the relationship between the community and the school. Secondly, his failure to acknowledge his staff for their outstanding job performance when he receives community recognition about the school. It seems like he only wanted recognition for himself and not when others did well. Associate Principal Howard brought to his attention that he did not recognize his staff for their contributions for him receiving the outstanding educator award from the Chamber of Commerce. Lastly, his relationship with the administration team and staff could have been better. Mrs. Howard informed Principal Varber that the staff considered him as a “phantom” principal because of his absence. She also pointed out that he never took the opportunity to have a “real” conversation with his staff, which hindered relationships and growth of the
People are sick, and it is because of listeria. Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream is doing all they can do to help fight the listeria outbreak before it is blown up, more than it already is. Jeni’s Ice Cream is safe to eat because they have no deaths from their produce. The news and consumers have blown this outbreak up way more than it needed to be because they didn’t realize that Jeni didn’t have contaminated produce that they could consume. Jeni’s Ice Cream should be doing as well as it used to because they had a problem, they recognized the problem, then they resolved the problem.

In EDU671 the researcher begins selecting data tools to help identify the issue within the organization. Using both qualitative and quantitative data will help find and measure the area of focus. After analyzing the data received, consequently it was determined the organization had a major communication gap between leadership and employees. The qualitative data were used as a formative assessment to gather information on employee communication skills. Once the information was received the quantitative data served as the summative assessment to focus on the implementation of new communication strategies. After receiving both qualitative and quantitative data collection, the researcher can now focus on whether or not the data collected will help answer the research questions in the research action plan.
