As a non-profit organization, Charity-water provides water to the people in developing countries as a focus of their work. To prove that that what they are doing give a positive impact to the community, their impact can be measured with the 7 principles of SROI. 1. Involve stakeholders: B The organization have to ensure that their stakeholders are kept informed in what they are doing, as they have to prove to their donors that they know what the organization is doing. They give a report to the stakeholders on how they do the operations, from finding the locations and why they choose that particular location. In their website the organization explains how and why they choose a certain location. Even though it will be difficult that the decision …show more content…
Understand what changes: B Bringing clean water to a different location in developing countries has many challenges; this is why the organization has to build a good relationship with the local community. In this case, with bringing new technology to the community, it will bring positive and negative impact. It is important to the organization to know how the community and their culture adapt to this new technology. In their website, they proclaim that they work with the community to find the best solution for everyone. These types of solutions will be different in every …show more content…
They provide their stakeholders with success stories in how the project benefits the community. They don’t provide clear information about how this project affects individuals and how this project changes their lives. The mission of the charity water organization in using 100% of their public donations for water projects shows some concerns, as people will be wondering about how the organization can survive with this mission. In addition, having another bank account from other resources can give some confusion on how to track down their expenses. The decision in choosing the location is also crucial, that’s why it should be clear on how they make a decision on this matter. They also should have provided information about how they do their monitoring and evaluation. With this information, they can predict how their project impacts the
Broni-Mensah got water for thousands of Ghanaians and other rural African countries. First of all, “The Manchester-based PhD student's response was to launch GiveMeTap -- a sustainable water scheme where people can buy stainless steel water bottles and refill them using a network of cafes and restaurants across Britain” (Said-Moorhouse). Here, Broni-Mensah started the company when he realized how hard it must be to get clean water to poor people. Moreover, “Outside of Africa, Broni-Mensah continues to push the GiveMeTap ethos and build up the free water refill participation network” (Said-Moorhouse). As you can see here, Broni-Mensah is working hard to build up GiveMeTap’s reputation so he can give more clean water to rural Africa. As Said-Moorhouse said, “To date, GiveMeTap has been able to build four water projects in Ghana, Malawi and Namibia with another four projects to be constructed in Ghana from December” (Said-Moorhouse). Broni-Mensah’s company has been quite successful in building water projects. consequently, GiveMeTap and Broni-Mensah has been able to save thousands of people and will save thousands
It’s no mystery that having clean water is a fundamental element to living in a prosperous society and one of the few things essential for human survival. Water not only sustains our health, but is required in making everything from electronics to clothes. Clean water may seem as ordinary as putting on your shoes, but it’s a daily party of our life that’s being threatened.
When determining whether this is a feasible project we need to take into consideration, which stakeholders could negatively be affected and what will The Home Depot do to minimize this impact. It is important that positive outcomes surpass negative outcomes, otherwise, this project will not succeed. The textbook states, “"The importance of aligning projects with organization strategy cannot be overstated.” This quotation means that above all, this project must relate to the mission strategy of the organization in order to maintain the interests of the stakeholders. Without stakeholders on board, this project would not be possible. The Home Depot’s actions in completing this project needs to be sensitive to any group that affects or can be affected because The Home Depot’s reputation is always being evaluated.
Nonprofits require a completely different strategy than traditional for profit enterprises. Usually, this is due to the fact that non profits tackle major problems that are not easily quantifiable. (FINISH)
...lk about projects such as these two,we must bear in mind that there are relatively great chances for the government to atleast have awareness of the underlying practices and situation. If we use the alternatives, it will incur cost but it will let go of the sacrifices and compromises poverty stricken nations have to pay. On the stakeholders i.e. the general masses it will be beneficial as they will be paid for their work in legal framework and will be provided water products in the market (Me, 2014).
There are 80 countries that have been suffering from a lack of clean water, and two billion people lack access to freshwater, especially South Africa (Alois). This area of countries is the driest in the world - Sudan, Ethiopia, Egypt and so on. Like in the book A Long Walk to Water by Linda Sue Park, Nya, who lives in Sudan, has been lacking clean water. She has to find water every day for her family. Luckily, Nya got help from Salva who used to live in Sudan and came back from America to build the water system for her village. However, there are still many people around the world that have been suffering to find clean water for basic use. There are many factors that cause a lack of clean water around the world: geography of countries, deforestation,
Water is not a want but a necessary human right people need in order to survive. However, there are about 660 million people in the world that do not have access to safe water. There are also, an estimate of, 2.4 million people who do not have an accessible toilet. In order to get the water needed, many people have to find hours every day collecting water. Due to this education and commerce become harder and less of a priority, a community cannot thrive when there safe water is lacking. By providing safe water and sanitation for those who do not have it they believe they can achieve global equality and make a better and brighter future for
2.1 billion people in countries that are undergoing a form of urbanization have inaccessibility to clean drinking water as a result of pollution, poverty and poor management of resources. Water resources are being depleted by agriculture and energy production
Clean water supplies are life necessities to live healthy lives. Children well-being is very high depending on the supply of clean water. Some of the health problems that face unclean water supply are that it can lead to diarrhea and hepatitis C from dirty unsanitary water. In fact more than millions of children per year die because of diarrhea that is result from lack of water supply. Unclean water supply not only affects children, but also is a problem for the whole house especially the woman. Women spend their days cleaning and cooking with unsafe and unclean water exposed them to more health concerns and problems. For example, areas like that in Africa are affected from thee6 lack of water supply. In Africa, the areas of Ghana are affected
The role of stakeholders in project management can range from supporting activities such as defining project goals to assessing project risk (Silvius & Schipper, 2014). One common trend in the literature is that no matter what the stakeholder role is, stakeholders should be identified early so that the interactions with the company add value (Fageha, & Aibinu, 2013; Lucae, Rebentisch, & Oehmen, 2014; Turner & Zolin, 2012; Silvius & Schipper, 2014). When the project manager neglects to identify stakeholders at the start of a project, having positive interactions with stakeholders might be limited as the project matures (Hagen & Park, 2013; Allen et al., 2014). Turner and Zolins (2012), Lucae, Rebentisch, Fageha and Aibinu (2013), and Oehmen (2014), agree that stakeholders should be identified in the initial stages of managing projects, mainly during the project planning stage; however, this is difficult to achieve due to the multiple meanings of the term stakeholder (Fageha, & Aibinu, 2013; Doh & Quigley, 2014). In the project planning stage, the following activities must be fulfilled: scope planning, stakeholder identification, stakeholder engagement, communication planning, cost and schedule estimation, funding, procurement planning, quality planning, resource planning, and risk management planning (Fageha, & Aibinu, 2013; Lucae, Rebentisch, & Oehmen, 2014; Poplawska et al., 2015). Stakeholder identification and stakeholder engagement
Nonprofit organizations impact communities all over the world from addressing issues to helping people, these organizations are vital to the livelihood of millions of people. Over the past couple of decades, in the United States, there has been an overwhelming increase in the reliance for nonprofits to address and ultimately solve social issues and respond to individual and national crises. However, through the nonprofit interactions, one internal issue is often neglected, the sustainability of these organizations. As stated in an article by the Corporation for National and Community Service, “Without the resources to strengthen and maintain the infrastructure and services of nonprofit organizations, this sector will be unable to respond effectively to growing demands.”
In any project it is important to do a stakeholder analysis in order to be able to identify the stakeholders and prioritise them by power and their interest to the success of the strategy or project. Once you identify them there is need to fully understand what motivates them in this project and what might be done to get their much needed support, thereby reducing obstacles to successful implementation. There maybe need to dangle carrots in order to get buy in from key stake holders. Incentives and rewards goes a long way in motivating other stakeholders to get results oriented effort.

Having clean water to drink means that water must have microbial, chemical and physical characteristics that meet WHO guidelines or national standards on drinking water quality. Around 780 million people in the world don’t have access to clean drinking water (Millions Lack Safe Water). More than 3.4 million people die each year from water, sanitation, and hygiene-related causes. Nearly all deaths, 99 percent, occur in developing countries. Around the world, diseases in unclean water kill about 1,400 children every day (Clean Drinking Water). There are many organizations that raise money in order to help develop ways or create ways for people to obtain clean drinking water. However, many people are unaware that this is even a problem in other countries because we take clean water for granted.
