An effective police officer cannot just do an adequate job. Conditions on the ground are often dangerous, unpredictable and stressful. Whether you just started work as new cop or have made chief of detectives, you will always have to have good traits. Having a job where you were put down, called names, and physically attacked on a daily basis, you’re describing the job of a police officer. A police officer must recognize that attacks on his or her character are not personal, people are communicating to the uniform, not the human wearing it. Extraordinary officers are able to absorb the verbal punishment and handle physical disagreements with an amount of force that is necessary, not extraordinary. Even when a suspect insults, losing your cool can interfere with your ability to enforce the law. A few angry words may confuse a solid case against a perpetrator. While there are many ways an officer can make things difficult for an uncooperative individual, a self-disciplined officer understands the difference between the law and emotions. The work of a police officer is done both indoors and outdoors. Police officers are usually outside patrolling, but they also have to do paper work, which can be time consuming. This work is done alone and by with other people. Some officers have partners while others don 't. Police officers are employed by are government. A police officer is not closely supervised they do have their own independence. When something serious happens they fill out paper work explaining what happened. Even though being a police officer can be dangerous and stressful, they have the best job in the world. What better feeling can you receive when helping people and getting people out of trouble? Sometime we need those officer who will just come and have a simple conversation with a citizen to see how there day is going.
