The main example of this is the sad situation of Helena and Demetrius during the early stages of the play. Helena is madly in love with Demetrius and would give her life for just one kind word from him. In this play, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, true love plays a huge role in the play. Several relationships begin true love such as Hermia and Lysander’s and Hypolyta and Thesus’ but some that did not begin in true love, end as true love such as Helena and Demetrius’. Helena and Demetrius in my perspective were meant to love each other so that everyone may be able to love each other in harmony.
This is how Claudio describes Hero in the earlier stages of the play, " She is the sweetest lady I have ever looked upon" This shows us his love for the beautiful lady he wishes to marry. Benedick and Beatrice have a hidden love. They show this love through hate. This may seem ridiculous, but in the early stages of the book, they seem to express their love through a hate relationship. They are constantly bickering.
Pilate was the strongest of the characters, no passive woman as well. She truly is an unusual piece of work, someone the reader wishes they saw more often in the world around them. Pilate is a personal favorite as well, and it isn't hard to see why. Pilate is the embodiment of what love is supposed to be and that is why she is so important and so dearly loved among readers. In the words of Milman, “There must be another one like you,” (336).
In conclusion, my three favorite characters from The Canterbury Tales: The Prologue is the Knight, the Pardoner, and Wife Bath. The Knight is my favorite character out of the three because he is the most honorable and respectful knight in this tale. The pardoner, although greedy, reminds me of the selfish part of myself which reminds me to keep myself in check and put myself before others a majority of the time. The last character that I come to terms to is Wife Bath, she is very relatable to me because she loves to talk and she has a happy personality. Many characters can be favored in any story; however everyone has their own specific characters that they relate to.
I strongly agree with the statement that Charlotte is truly the ideal role model of unconditional love and will support my stand by highlighting Charlotte's selfless acts, contrasting her with Templeton, showing why he is the complete opposite of her, comparing her with other models of love such as Fern, Mrs. Arable and the goose and lastly, proving that Wilbur's change is a result of her unconditional love. We know Charlotte's nature very well. She was Wilbur's best friend and saviour; beautiful and intelligent. As White put it, "It's not often that someone comes along who is a true friend and a good writer. Charlotte was both."
Edgar tries to please and honor Catherine, in the end it does not help, because her love for Heathcliff will always be there. In conclusion, Heathcliff and Catherine will always love each other. And because they both love each other so much, it takes
Gertrudis is a strong and kind person. Gertrudis and Tita are a lot alike. Gertrudis is not there through out the entire novel but it seems like she is always there when Tita needs her. Gertrudis ends up the one person who is very happy and she has the life she always wanted. Gertrudis leaves in the beginning which shows that she is bound to her family but doesn't want to be there she wants to do her own thing and lead her own life.
That is why this play is still so relevant today, because any reader in the world can have their heart opened up to a tragic love story. It simply has been and remains to be one of the most prevalent yet successful storylines in the history of writing. The love seen between Othello and Desdemona is a rare one. At the beginning of their marriage they are as happy as ever and you can tell that they both respect and love each other deeply. They love each other so deeply in fact that you can honestly tell from the literature that they would never do anything to hurt the other.
For example, if passion is lost over time, it may change into companionate love” (2). After all the things that happened between them they always find a way, they can 't stay away for too long. The passion they have for each other is undeniable. Erika’s and Victor are not only lovers they can truly say that they are best friends. I am really happy that she found her soul mate/ life –partners I know it’s cheesy to say, but I hope one day I’ll find my prince charming and have a consummate
I fancy the John Green quote, “I fell in love the way you fall asleep; slowly, then all at once.” I consider this quote to be one of the best ways to explain love. In conclusion, no matter what shape or form, love will always have an affect on my life. All in all, the story of Romeo and Juliet will continue to be an important part of culture and literature forevermore. The themes help define and understand feelings and what it means to be human. Love in Romeo and Juliet makes the reader think about the worth of love, all the styles of love there are, and the idea of true love.
