In the novel Stargirl their was a girl in high school who was named Stargirl who didn't care much to conform and just did her own thing . Stargirl started to make a name for herself half way through the year by joining the cheerleading squad and did things that got the school buzzing . At first when she was doing this people thought it was something that they should conform to but some popular people like Hillari Kimble thought this was foolish and nothing to give any attention to. But it did so that was angering Hillari Kimble and towards the end Stargirl was remembered different and she must have been aware the way she would be remembered .

She didn’t wear makeup and her eyes were bigger than anyone else’s in the school. Also, she wore outrageous clothes. Normal for her was a long floor-brushing pioneer dress or skirt. Stargirl is definitely different. She’s a fun loving, free-spirited girl who no one had ever met before. She was the friendliest person in school. Because of his angry responses and bad language it can be hard to recognize the significant impact Jewel has on his family. Jewel is courageous and sacrifices for his family even if the other Bundrens do not acknowledge or honor him for his actions. Jewel may not the most balanced son in the world, but neither are his siblings, and he shows throughout the forty-mile trip to his mother’s hometown of Jefferson that he wants to honor his mother’s wishes. Addie wanted to be buried in Jefferson, and without Jewel this would not have happened. In terms of his actions, Jewel shows that he loved his mother the most out of all her children.
