In all stories there is usually some sort of conflict, but how do these problems arise? Well usually a conflict is formed when there is a problem between the protagonist and the antagonist. Without this, the story wouldn't have a very interesting storyline. The more evil and damage there is done, the better the villain is. A great example of this would be Scar from The Lion King. His appalling appearance, opposition to the protagonist, and petrifying actions all help prove why he really is a great villain.

To begin with, Scars hideous features help contribute to why he is seen as a terrifying character. First, Scar's hair is a lot darker than most lions. This tends to give off a strange vibe, because it has us wondering why he is different than most lions. Second, he has a scar around his eye. This makes you wonder what has happened in the past for him to have that marking. With just the sight of scar, most animals would run off in fear.

Next, Scars petrifying actions are just another good reason why he is truly pure evil. First he tries multiple times to kill Simba, just so he would not grow up and take the role as king. This shows how dangerous he is, how we would kill just …show more content…

He feels as if he should be king. Yet, he has different values than the other characters. His views are more towards taking power and being served as king, rather than the good deeds that Mufasa values. This just shows how different these two characters truly are. For example, when Scar explains to the hyenas what he would do as king. This shows readers that he is in it for a whole different reason, rather than King Mufasa who is about doing good and keeping the kingdom safe. When Scar takes over the kingdom, it becomes a dark place with little resources left. This represents all the pain and suffering he has caused to the kingdom.
