This chapter provides an analysis of the procedures that were used in conducting the study.the procedures used are outlined in the following order:¬(a)Research approach, (b) research design, (c) data collection, (d) data analysis, (e) validity and (f) ethical considerations.
Research approach
Qualitative and inductive approach was used to record and analyse data on the various variables that explain the perceived leadership styles and the level of satisfaction they yield.these approaches were necessary as the study focused in understanding human behavior,beliefs and their emotions about leadership and satisfaction levels.
Research design
Monkey survey was utilized in obtaining relevant data related to the study.monkey survey is an online site that provides an avenue to conduct surveys through questionnaires..survey was the most appropriate method to collect data that are descriptive in nature(Petti,1993)..it is used in individual analysis and measuring personal and social attitudes,beliefs and facts(Rossie & Freeman, 1993,Babbie,1983,Kerlinger,1986).this study sought to verify certain facts about the structure of leadership and its impact.
This research design was appropriate for data collection from large number of people within a given short time.the method also proved to be costa effective and efficient as compared to other forms of data collection criteria such as observations and interviews.
Data collection
This study solely relied on MonkeySurvey online site to obtain all the relevant data required in its analysis.in February 2014,electronic mails were randomly sent to employees from Office Holdings,a company that operates the “Office” chain of shoe shops in the United Kingdom and Ireland using MonkeySurvey.the survey w...

Reliability of sample
The Office has several branches across Ireland and United Kingdom.all the employess could not be surveyed due to time and resource constraint therefore a sample of the population was chosen to act as representative for the the whole population.the selection of the sample to be used was done randomly to avoid biasness in the data.the sample consisted of employees from the three branches of Office randomly selected.
Across the globe, there are CEO’s, managers, and several other individual’s in leadership-type roles that have the expectation of making their company successful in the eyes of the investors, the employees, and the customers that they serve. This may be measured by a company’s gross profitability, employee engagement or overall customer satisfaction. Most companies have leadership models and strategies in place that leaders are expected to use in order to drive the expectations of the company while maintaining consistency across the business. In an effort to examine various types of leadership styles, I have conducted interviews with two individuals that are or have been previously tasked with leading their teams and their company towards success.

It has been noted with evaluation that it appears to have the components of adequate criteria for being a credible source and having credible authors. The design of being a qualitative study has been evaluated and contains most of the components of the noted checklist. There are ethical issues that are well documented and weighed. The problem statement and purpose statement have been noted and the literature review was evaluated thoroughly. The sampling strategy is purposeful and explained in depth. The study was compared and is noted that its methods are of trustworthy quality. To optimize EBP is the ultimate goal in conducting a study of this nature. It has been shown that there is a significant amount of knowledge obtained from the study and there is a probable use for this information.
The variety of methods and data collection within the research design provided the author with a greater ability to support her thesis.
In response to the question set, I will go into detail of the study, consisting of the background, main hypotheses, as well the aims, procedure and results gathered from the study; explaining the four research methods chosen to investigate, furthering into the three methods actually tested.
Systematic research on leadership began in the early 1930s (House & Aditya, 1997). Researchers were interested in identifying leadership traits that might differentiate leaders from non-leaders. Despite of devoting so much effort to this area, only a few leader traits were found to be positively related to leadership effectiveness such as intelligence and Self-confidence.(Mann, 1959).After this leadership researchers turned their attention to leaders’ behavior. Two types of leadership behavior were identified in different studies (1) Initiating structure that includes task related behaviors such as organizing work, defining role responsibilities, and setting up work activities. (2) Consideration includes relationship oriented behaviors such as building trust, respect, and liking between leaders and followers. The University of Michigan group also identified two types of leadership behaviours. (1)Production orientation means that how much leader is concerned with achieving organizational goals and tasks and (2) employee orientation means that how much followers’ needs are important to leader (House & Aditya, 1997). (Song Heyi and Mao Na Guo Dan, 2007) inspect the relationship between the traits and the performance of the leader in different organizational cultures and found that in today’s dynamic world the negative traits are directly related to the performance, leaders play significant role in every organization. As the competition between the service oriented organizations is very high and continuous change is needed here and growth of these organizations where the only possibility to survive successfully is due to the effective and productive leadership. Three major types of methods used for this study are “Longitudinal Research Method”, “Cross- sectional Research Method” and “Cross Sequential Method” (A cohort form of Longitudinal and cross-sectional method). “Case Study Method” and “Survey Method” also have been used (Baltes, 1968).
The relationship between transformational leadership and job satisfaction is one of the most critical success factors in any organization and has become one of the largest topics studied among psychology, management and organizational behavior researchers (Tsai, 2011). Job satisfaction refers to how satisfied an individual is with his or her job within their organization. There are many factors that determine the job satisfaction, and one of the factors is the type of leadership style. Trait theory based on research that was focused on identifying specific physical characteristics as well as personal attributes that may be associated with leader effectiveness. Stogdill (1974) analyzed and synthesized 287 studies on leadership traits conducted between 1904 and 1970 and identified several characteristics associated with effective leaders. These included: good interpersonal skills; self-confidence and achievement-orientation; persistence in the pursuit of goals; ability to cope with interpersonal stress and tolerate frustration; ability to engage in creative problem solving. Trait studies showed that other characteristics that distinguish good from poor leaders included integrity and honesty, a desire to lead and job- related knowledge. Moreover, there has been an increasing focus on identifying the relationships between leadership and the Big Five model of personality. Transactional or transformational theory, focus on leader vision and ability to inspire followers (transformational); leader clarifies performance criteria and ‘rewards’ subordinates for meeting performance expectations (transactional). Path-goal theory focuses on the way that leaders’ behaviours can influence subordinate performance and satisfaction. It draws upon the expectancy theory of motivation to explain a leader’s impact on subordinates. Even though, whatever the theory, there are common aspects. Result of two factors, leadership style and situational favourability, straightly define success of a group. First, depends on the multiple factors such as: character, ethnicity, social background, education, experience, and culture. Inconsiderable of these factors, it seems the leadership approaches have been segregated in to two broad groups: relationship oriented, and task oriented. The authors of this article have outlined the purpose, aims, and objectives of the study. It also provides the methods used which is quantitative approach to collect the data, the results, conclusion of the study. It is important that the author should present the essential components of the study in the abstract because the abstract may be the only section that is read by readers to decide if the study is useful or not or to continue reading (Coughlan, Cronin, and Ryan, 2007; Ingham-Broomfield, 2008 p.104; Stockhausen and Conrick, 2002; Nieswiadomy, 2008 p.380).
Data Collection and Analysis Questionnaire The research was carried out on both quantitative and qualitative approaches. It began with a quantitative approach—questionnaire. Bryman and Bell (2003) asserted that mail or postal questionnaires are the most popular forms of questionnaires. Another form—self-completion questionnaire—was also common because of the overlap with postal questionnaire to some extent.
Now within the rest of this paper you will be finding a few different things getting discussed. Staring it off we will be discussing the articles that we have found to make our arguments and hypotheses. After wrapping up the literature reviews we will be discussing the hypotheses thus continuing onto our variables and indicators. Once we discuss our hypotheses we will be moving onto the research design. The research design will have our general issues, sampling, and methods.

Striating from the research idea to the culmination of the findings, the research process entails many segments, all of which are imperative. By choosing the research methodology, the researchers can formulate the path to be used in conducting the study and reporting the findings. The methodology helps in the search of literature, development of research questions and the creation of the most suitable study design. It also assists in the interpretation of the results and the publication of the findings in journals.
