Censorship is the suppression of words,images,ideas that are offensive to various individuals.Many people are against censorship;however,it has a purpose and place in society.Words have a more impact on society than actions do.Throughout history words have controlled societies started wars and lead the death of millions.Therefore,words need to be looked at as a tool.Many individuals believe there can be negative effects of censorship,subsequently the positive effects of security of the nation, control of violence,and control of false information demand freedom of speech be limited. Private and governmental information needs to be limited due to national security.In the law 505.7 disclosure of personal information,It prohibits from disclosing a record from a privacy act system of records to any person pr agency without the prior written consent of the subject of the record.If this law was not in place then disclosure of private information of soldiers would be released because they wouldn't have a consent in who got into their information.This is important …show more content…

If this act wasn’t established their would be rage and fury on any kind of media that is turned on.Violence plays a complex part in threats;therefore, these individuals and there words need to be restricted.The death and destruction caused by terrorist who listened to and adopted anti-american views are reminders that speech can often spur dangerous actions in response.Hate speech is dehumanizing to specific individuals and can cause others to act in violent behavior.By limiting this type of speech society is insuring the safety of persecuted groups.Censorship needs to be in place in order to secure individuals because hate is part of humanity and it needs to be
