Did you know teenageers have died more from prescription drugs than cocaine and heroin combined? Just because it is sold in a pharmacy it does not mean it is safer than any other drug. Prescription drugs can affect you positively when you are in an unhealthy state but may affect you negatively while using the drug in personal use. Drugs and Alcohol has brought the economic cost of $215 billion dollars. This number of cost comes from damage done from the behavior of the person while being impacted by the drug. Not just adults, but also adolescents which brings to about 14.2% of teens being impacted by illicit drugs. Any type of drug is a substance that changes the body’s through an effect. Each effect is different depending many factors, from the amount of the substance, the type of person that is using the drug. Many teens use drugs or are introduced to drugs for many reasons. From an Anonymous person, “when a person consumes the drug what you can feel a positive sensation or negative sensation depending from the person who consumes the drug. You feel energized and after the symptoms are done you are dragged down lower than where you started. It feels like a rollercoaster from the “high” to the “hangover”. This means that when you consume the drug you will feel worse after the consumptions which really affects your health and come with serious health problems. After being in the “rollercoaster” your health is at a dangerous risk. This really important because this means that all relationships with a drug may affect your health negatively and all the outcomes are bad. The only outcome that will come out is a downward spiral.
