It was December 11, 1932 the depression has hit America hard and especially, Lucille's hometown of Detroit. Lucille loved to write stories and hoped to become a newspaper journalist for the Detroit Free Press when she grew up. She loved writing stories and sharing them with everyone. One day she went to the post office to drop off some letters to her mom’s relatives to see how they were doing and on her way back she decided to stop at her best friend Ava’s house to show her newest story and right as she got there she noticed that Ava’s house had a foreclosure sign in front and men removing their furniture from her house. James and his cousin Robert come home unexpectedly and they hide and leave the trunk open. James and Robert are suspicious and have Robert leave town as soon as possible. Lucille doesn’t want them to get away so Lucille hides in the trunk and tells Ava to go get help. Ava asks Marilyn for help and tells Ava to get in her car while she calls the police. They drive to a call booth and see James car in the nearby woods. Marilyn gets out of the car and starts talking to James and his cousin while they are digging up the box and they realize that she is in on the whole thing too. And realize that their at Lucille's house has been disconnected. Ava distracts them and Lucille grabs the box. They run and realize that their near the hobo camp and run into Will. They tell him that Robert, James cousin committed all the crimes and Will helps them hide the box. Ava sneezes and James, Robert, and Marilyn runs towards them and the hobos attack them and turn them into the authorities. They explain that they are responsible for all crimes all over the country and that they were blaming the
