Interest Inventory Grace Lee is ten years old fifth grader. She was born in Korea and came to America at the age of five. Both her parents and grandparents are Korean. Her primary language used in her house is Korean. There are six members in her family, Grace, her mother and father, sisters who are seven and one and her brother who is three. She does not get along with them. But she likes to eat ice creams with them. After school, she usually does her homework and watch television. In the evening, she continues to watch television and read books. She watches Disney channel and Minecraft videos on YouTube. She wrote six different kinds of writing. She wrote realistic stories, fairytale, memoirs, biographies, reports, and articles. Her favorite genres to write are articles, fairytales, and memoirs. One of the best writing projects she has written is a realistic fiction. She used interesting words, fluent sentences, and dialogue to make the writing project good. As a writer, she indicates her strength as using interesting word in her writing. One accomplishment she accomplished this year is writing more than 20 writing projects. One of improvement she like to make is adding more details and dialogues. One strategy she learned to use this year is figurative language. Rules and conventions of writing she can use very well are punctuation and adding sentences. As a speller she learned how to pronounce words better. Also she has concepts about print. She was able to identify and give definitions to table of content, index, glossary, and words written in bold and italicized. She would mostly be alone and sit by herself being buried in books or watching cartoons. In high school she attended a program for troubled adolescents and from there she received a wide range of support from helping her get braces to helping her get information to attend community college. (59) Even with this she was already too emotionally unstable due to her family issues and felt like she couldn’t go through with her dreams to travel and even go into the art of culinary. She suffers from psychological problems such as depression and worries constantly about almost every aspect in her life from work to family to her boyfriend and just hopes that her life won’t go downhill. (60) Overall Kayla’s family structure shows how different is it now from it was in the 1950’s as divorce rates have risen and while before Kayla’s type of family structure was rare now it is becoming more common. This story helps illustrate the contributions of stress that children possess growing up in difficult homes in which they can’t put their own futures first they must, in some cases, take care of their guardian’s futures first or others around them. She received her first typewriter as a teen and received ardent support from her parents over her choice of a career as she wrote through her high school and college time. She earned a scholarship to attend Syracuse University and graduated valedictorian in the year 1960. She then received her master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin in the year 1961. She took on teaching work at the University of Windsor in Canada. She and her husband went on to work as co-editors on the literary quarterly publication “The Ontario Review; she then later on took on a teaching position at Princeton University in the late 1970’s.
There are various ways writers can evaluate their techniques applied in writing. The genre of writing about writing can be approached in various ways – from a process paper to sharing personal experience. The elements that go into this specific genre include answers to the five most important questions who, what, where, and why they write. Anne Lamott, Junot Diaz, Kent Haruf, and Susan Sontag discuss these ideas in their individual investigations. These authors create different experiences for the reader, but these same themes emerge: fears of failing, personal feelings toward writing, and most importantly personal insight on the importance of writing and what works and does not work in their writing procedures.
My analysis over the development of my writing throughout this semester. I will assess many aspects of my experiences with English 1301 up to this point in the semester. I will explain the ways by which I have blossomed as a writer during this time. I will provide brief examples of my work to show what I am basing the evaluation of my writing on. What my conceptions of writing were, at the start of, the semester and compare it to what they are now. I will clarify how my work this semester reflects the concepts of writing and reading we have been working on and studying in class. I will tell about what and how particular reading assignments have been influential in my growth of creative ideas. Lastly, my interpretation of what it means to be a writer, and how my experiences this semester has influenced my opinion on writing.

The narrator has been creative ever since she was a child, and her creativity just grew as she got older. “I used to lie awake as a child and get more entertainment and terror out of blank walls and plain furniture than most children could find in a toy-store” (Gilman 315). Now as a woman, she likes to express her creativity by writing. “I think sometimes that if I were only well enough to write a little it would relieve the press of ideas and rest me” (314). J.R. is seven years old and lives in an apartment with her mother, brothers, aunt, and cousins. She enjoys riding her bike outside, watching television, and reading fashion magazines. Fashion and design are her two main passions. J.R. will read any book or magazine if it deals with fashion or design. J.R. also expressed her dream of becoming a hairstylist, just like her mom. However, J.R. isn't as enthusiastic towards reading as she is towards fashion. Reading is just reading to her. At school, she would rather be learning a different subject and at home she would rather be riding her bike. She expressed multiple times that she only likes to read if the material is based on fashion or if the book is a Fly Guy book. Fly Guy books are her favorite. However, J.R. stated that she does like reading with her friends while at school and she does like answering questions because it makes her feel like a movie star. So, presenting and interacting with others is something that she loves to do and feels comfortable doing in the classroom.
Making the decision to become a writer for some, is a childhood dream. For others, it is a later in life decision, such as the case of Rebecca Goppert and Stephanie Jackson. Both of these writers share some characteristics, yet they are uniquely different writers. The decisions of when, how, and what to write vary between the two, yet they complete a book on the same train of thought. Both of these writers are talented and skilled in their professional lives, and have proven to be highly valued for their creative output.
Esther’s failure in her writing career is the first of many factors that send her into her depression. After Esther’s scholarship was over, she was sent back home to live with her mother. Now is when everything in her life is a vital step towards a career and her success in college. Writing is something that comes to some as a talented ability, yet others as an inconvenient burden. It’s just one of those things where “you either have it, or you don’t.” Within composing, one can express their feelings and emotions through mind blowing subtle details. The reader can grasp the elements within a story, to where it practically feels as if they are living it themselves. Writing can be an unwinding strategy for some, a method of communicating feelings for others, or just essentially enjoyable.
The characteristics of writers are success involves a lot of respect, personal growth , and other internal measure of value , religious , cultural values and other various external factors. All of these things are integrated in a writer who play a role, the most important thing is something spiritual ecology , especially writers emotional experience .
