Delran is located on the Pennsylvania side of southern New Jersey, in the county called Burlington and gets its name from being smack in the center of the DELaware River and the RANcocus creek. Carli learned to play soccer at age 5 and developed her natural abilities by participating in pickup games and practicing on her own local town field for hours a day. Several years later Carli went on to attend Delran High School where she was named the girl’s high school player of the year by the Philadelphia Inquirer twice. During her high school career, she also part took in a club team outside of school called the Medford Strikers and helped them win back-to-back state cups. After graduating from Delran in 2000, Carli decided to stay close to home where she attended Rutgers University of New Brunswick. She became the women’s soccer team’s leading scorer and ended up being the first player in school history to earn first-team all-conference four years in a row. Also during her college career, she was voted to the NSCAA All- American team 3 times. Starting her international success, Carli was a member of the U.S. Junior national team that attended the Nordic cup and won from 2002-2005. There also came a time in Carli’s life where she almost quit, at one point Carli was cut from the team and she though it was all over. She decided not to give up and started meeting with a coach named James Galanis who helped Carli develop her fitness and mental toughness. All her hard work paid off when she was named to the U.S. Senior National team and made her first ever international appearance in July 2005 against Ukraine. Two years later she was voted MVP of the prestigious Algarve Cup, and that summer made her first ever FIFA Women’s Cup
