Dermatologist The first feature a person can see is the outside of the body: the skin. Everyone wishes to have clear skin. Many struggle with self-confidence because of acne or skin disorders. Students in highschool who wish to have a jumpstart on their career may have more opportunities than they know. Shadowing is always a great place to start whether you are in high school or currently enrolled in college courses. Many offices allow you to come shadow and tour facilities to gain interest and knowledge (“Dermatologist” 15). Even though there is a high demand for the medical field, it can be very difficult. A great amount of schooling is required. The career path that I want to pursue is in the medical field. I major in psychology and minor in biology because going to medical school has always been my desire. Being a pediatrician is my goal I wish to conquer. I am beyond interested and passionate about this career. It is not just a career, it is my life dreams. There are many different skin conditions that exist. Often the similar characteristics of the conditions make it difficult for medical professionals to diagnose. A few of the most common skin conditions are eczema, contact dermatitis, and psoriasis.
What is a pediatrician? Pediatricians are doctors who specialize and focus in caring for babies to young adults (Career Cruising). They deal with childhood diseases and the care of infants with health and sickness (Elberts). The typical upper age limit of patients is from age twelve to age twenty-one (NetMed Pediatrics). They have to treat their patients as if he or she were going to change the world. Pediatricians complete many tasks in a day’s time. They perform physical exams and order tests that will diagnose diseases and injuries that have occurred. They advise surgery and medications and may also help patients through puberty and family problems (Career Cruising). It is their responsibility to make sure the patients are not only healthy, but also safe and happy. Some pediatricians communicate with social workers, family members, and health care workers to understand the entire situation as best as they can (Career Cruising). If the patient seems to have more personal problems, pediatricians have the opportunity to send them to other doctors like a psychiatrist for treatment. I am getting my degree in public health in hopes that I can continue my education and eventually become a physician assistant (P.A.) specializing in dermatology. Dermatology has been very fascinating to me ever since a young age. I was born with very sensitive skin and have had problems with rashes, breakouts, etc. and was always very curious as to why this would happen to me when most of my friends had seemingly perfect skin. I knew I wanted to be a P.A. during my middle school years. In order to be successful and respected as a P.A. I need to be able to write and speak professionally.
Before I began to do my search process, I made a list and wrote down the things I knew, and certain keywords I could use to find my information. Some of my keywords were, how has technology made cosmetology better, how has technology changed the industry, advances in cosmetology with their equipment and cosmetics, new advanced and enhanced things for cosmetology in 2016- 2017, and if they are making an effect on society. Finding my sources for my research paper wasn't a difficult process for me. I began by typing the question, “new technology in the beauty industry” in the Google search bar. I had a lot of different sources appear, that allowed me to have variety of sources that I needed for my paper.
Injuries happen on a daily basis, accident or not, at home, at work, or anywhere you may be. It is our responsibility to take care of our body and be healthy so that we can fully function. As technology rapidly advances, we increase our chances in further injure ourselves, but with our research that is also increasing, we can protect ourselves and even boost the rate at which our body heals itself.
