Research assignment
Growing up I always knew that I wanted to work in the office completing many jobs that have to with typing, answering the phones, filing documents and using the computer at my very own desk or work station. So when it came to completing this career research assignment, I thought it would be a piece of cake. Not only do I feel like this is a good career choice for me because of my experience and background but I love working and assisting people. This career will allow me to just that, being office assistance will also allow me to travel and take business trips and meet new people. Becoming an office administrative is going to take a lot hard work but I am up for the task. Some of the skills and education that I am obtaining now will prepare me to work my way up to and become great office administrative. In conclusion pursuing or choosing a career can be complicated but if it’s something that you love to do make your job a lot easier to go to everyday. Pursuing a career in Office Administration is what I plan on doing after I obtain my high school diploma and leave Job core. I am looking forward to enjoy my future working in various places and meeting new people through lens of an administrative assistance.
My major is Business Administration and I plan to graduate in summer 2018 with an Associated Degree. In fall 2018, I will be transferring to San Diego State University for my Master Degree in Business Administration. It has been a little hard to go back to school after 25 year, but I am ready to grow in my current job. I work full time for Kaiser Permanente. My main duty is to help and manage the call center for Small Business Accounts. I enjoy training and sharing my knowledge with new hires. Also, I assist phone agent with difficult callers. I have been working for Kaiser Permanente for 14 year and my goal is to work there until I retire.
Truck driving is a much needed career to help transport goods across the United States and other local areas. Commercial Truck Driving is the career I choose to uphold. Trucking is a way of transportation needed to keep business going. Trucking has been a part of my family for years so I fell in love with trucks now I won’t to drive my own. This career has a good background, career requirements, job positions, and a good reflection.
Growing up I struggled with the constant question, “what do you want to be when you grow up?” With so many different career paths to choose from, it’s hard to become overwhelmed. As college gradually tiptoed in on me, I began to feel like I would never find the profession right for me. The few things that I did know I wanted in my future career were very simple to me. They were a job in the healthcare world where I could go home each night knowing I made a difference in someone’s life. A job that wasn’t just following a routine everyday but required creativity and brought new challenges while working with a diverse population.
The top priority currently is to finish my degree. I need to complete the BS in healthcare administration program at Kaplan in order to further my career. Then I will need to get a job in the healthcare field, either at a clinic or maybe even an insurance office. After gaining some experience in the field, I will try to work my way up to management positions. To do this, I may need to obtain the AAHAM certification, and even if it's not required, it is something I will do anyway because it is a good way to show that I am proficient in my field. My career choice is Medical Office Administrator. The reason I have chosen this career is because I have always wanted to work in the medical field but I never wanted to be hands on with the patients. After researching I learned more about this career I felt like it was all that I wanted. My chosen profession is Healthcare Administration. Healthcare Administrators plan, direct, and coordinate health and medical services in many organizations. They are responsible for administering the financials, managing personnel, maintaining boards, analyzing facility activities, and planning programs (11-9111.00 - Medical and Health Services Managers, n.d.). Depending on specific occupation acquired, several different softwares can be learned. Skills such as administration, customer service, human resources, and accounting are imperative for this career as interacting with people is the majority of this job. Healthcare administration provides leadership and managemnt to health care systems, hospitals, and private or public health systems. There are requirements for most professions in the health industry but with the proper education and certification, most entry-level careers are attainable. Healthcare administrators are leaders so one must be able to handle the responsibility of the job. There are characteristics that can be associated with being a health care administrator. I have learned over the course of the past few weeks that this the career path that I would like to follow and have set a few goals to help promote my career growth. This paper is an over view of my profession and future Degree in my Bachelors of Science in Health Care Administration. I am currently looking for work as an Administrative Assistant with the goal of becoming a Business Administrator or General Manager in the future. I have been in the workforce for a couple of decades now and have had the opportunity to experience many different career paths. As a child, have you ever been asked what do you want to be when you grow up? When I was little, all I ever wanted to do was open up my own dance company. I chose to study Business Administration because I love the feeling of being an in professional and sophisticated manner. I really feel as though choosing the business field was the best option I ever made for myself because I’m getting the opportunity to show many people out there how professional I can be and also the skills I have as a person.
All college students should partake in career exploration project because it gives structure and direction. The result from an assessment identifies and prioritizes which careers will best suit an individual person or student. It does not necessarily mean they have to pick that particular job or career; it gives them more chooses to choose from. Career exploration is a life long journey that is emotionally, physically and mentally stress full. I say lifelong because as time goes on so does an individual’s views, abilities and skills. The nature of the background and role of administrative office management makes it the most logical of all organizational areas to have responsibility for the management of the organization information (Velva Tyson). For this reason, I think that for us to have a better understanding about what Administrative Office Assistant really is or means within an organizational setting; we should first define it and then acknowledge the crucial role administrative office assistants play in all kinds of businesses.
