Have you ever wonder why elderly take vitamins, drinking milk and intake other healthy supplements for their body? People starts to lose their bone mass or density as they age majority are women, after their menopause. Their bones start to lose calcium and other minerals. This lead to Osteoporosis; which is bone become fragile and weak with an increased risk of broken bones if you happens to fall down. Intake Calcium, vitamin D are supposed to be beneficial for your health but too much can lead to Cardiovascular Health, but vitamin K will prevent heart disease. I didn't know that calcium can cause heart disease or any health problems. The article explain it very well. It did not talk about the case study much, only said what experimental they did and it went on and focus more on Vitamin K. Vitamin K was the main topic of the paper and how it help prevent heart disease by activate MGP.
In " Osteoporosis: now and the future"by Rachner, Tilman D., Sundeep Khosla, and Lorenz C. Hofbauer. The percentage for women with menopause are facing osteoporosis are increasing as the aging increase. In the near future the fracture risk of patient with osteoporosis high as roughly around 40 percent are expected to increase and the fracture more likely be the hip, spine or wrist. There are two categories osteoporosis falls in and that is anti resorptive drugs which slow down the bone resorption and anabolic drugs that help stimulate bone formation. This article doesn't have any new information compared to the other two articles. This article just is pretty much an overview comparing to the other articles talking about treatment for osteoporosis. The way the it is written is word differently, but majority of the information are the same. It talked about the PTH, vitamin D, the bone mass or density calcium and vitamin K. If I haven't read the other two articles I would find this article
