Left frozen and asleep for nearly 70 years, the star spangled superhero emerged from the freezing depths of the Arctic, ready to continue his battle for justice and liberty. With a strong belief of justice and liberty around the world, his dream was to defend the helpless from harm. As a frail and weak youth, joining the experiment known as Project Rebirth entirely reversed his life forever. No longer was he known as a weak person, but rather the first and only super soldier. A force to be reckoned with, villains will find it fairly difficult to defeat his righteous will to defend the innocent and defeat anyone who dares to threaten justice. Subsequently after the super soldier serum was injected, instantly arose a hero who saved the lives of many during the Second World War. He’s known as Captain America, a remarkable and unique superhero unlike any other, with enhanced body muscles along with an unbreakable special shield combined with a tenacious belief to defend the helpless. While clashing with foes threatening justice, Captain America would always use his strength to save others precious to him by vanquishing his opponent.
Upon his transformation, his body developed from a decrepit, fragile youth into a stronger, vigorous superhero, fulfilling his long awaited dream. Unlike other appealing superheroes with flashy superpowers, Captain America’s body had just simply reached the highest peak of human potential. In reality, Captain America is just simply a human who has achieved the highest evolution of the human body, utilizing his potential to fulfill his dream. ...k of their own life. An ultimate superhero isn’t considered to be a flashy superhero with impossible superpowers that can simply blast down villains at the cost of blowing up an entire city. Utilizing whatever resources they have to save others from harm and bring the villain to justice is what one could call the true ultimate superhero. Out of all super heroes, Captain America would top the list as the utmost superhero for his righteous belief and bravery. After all, Captain America’s capability isn’t only his immense human potential, his shield would consistently be utilized to safeguard the innocent. Combined with his intellect to save the innocent and bring villains to justice, no one can compete with him. From frail to a once in a lifetime unique superhero, Captain America exists today with traits incomparable to other superheroes.

This is not the way of the superhero, no, this is a selfish, monetarily-based endeavor to keep peace with those who are bringing the most "to the table". I agree with Alsford, the power of power can only be measured through its application, and if the hero's power is misused, it is futile and worthless. In summary, I think global efforts should be made to not only maintain balance as a whole, but also to begin viewing all humanity as one, and all of humanity worth saving. By changing our view on reality, we can change the world; violence and human monitoring are not the only ways to keep the peace, we can also start employing our wits and really start talking out our problems. The issue is not whether or not the enemy is defeated, but rather whether or not our species has learned to listen.
The Death Ray by Daniel Clowes is a graphic novel about the story of Andy and how he learned about his superpowers. A superhero is someone who has saved the day by accomplishing something heroic. Even though we look at superheroes as a something fiction, based on this we have everyday heroes around us such as firefighters, police officers, doctors and many more. In Clowes work, we quickly discover that this superhero theme plays out a little differently than what we are used to. The way that Clowes presents Andy to his super power, it is evident this is not an ordinary superhero story. It is arguable that despite the fact that Andy did more harm than good with his powers, his intentions were good. Therefore, he would be considered a superhero.

The practice of ancestor veneration has been present for thousands of years in Chinese culture. Looking at this single theme from China in 1600 compared to earlier periods, it is not hard to see that China has seen great continuity when it comes to honoring their ancestors. Religion, politics, and the economics of China may have changed over the years, but ancestor veneration has persisted and has even been shaped by these aspects.
Gary Engle describes Superman as the ultimate American, “Superman is the greatest American hero” (Engle, 677). After reading three comic books I notice an occurring theme of wanting to protect what is good, even though the comic books chosen span over eleven years. Several distinct things to Superman’s personality are his cape, the respect he has for others, the respect others have for him, his intelligence, his protection of all life and what is right, his origin, and the sacrifices he makes. Abraham Lincoln is also known for his determination towards ending slavery. One of Abraham Lincoln’s political accomplishments was issuing the Emancipation Proclamation. Before his presidency, Lincoln was not that knowledgeable about the military because he never really had a proper education when he was small. However, Lincoln’s entire presidency basically took place during the war.
Patriotism begins with knowing some historic background of one’s country. The following is a short intro to pass through the timeline of USA’s history. Most Americans have heard that Columbus sailed the ocean blue in 1492. He came to what is now America. Several years pass and George Washington becomes the first president. This is when the constitution is ratified. The constitution declares our freedoms as American citizens. States begin to form, such as Vermont and Kentucky. They were the first two states to be admitted to the United States. John Adams and Thomas Jefferson had the presidential terms in the late 1700s and early 1800s.

Superheroes are known to save mankind and defend the Earth, but what most people do not consider is the amount of stress these heroes deal with on a daily basis. The purpose of this paper is to provide the reader with an insight into the Super Hero Series Batman. This crime fighter originally appeared in Detective Comics issue #27 in 1939. It later became a comic book series, a TV series and a movie series. The character Batman is second only to Superman as a Super Hero. Amazingly Batman has no super powers, but he does have a lot of neat crime fighting gadgets. In this paper, we will explore the creation of Batman, his supporting cast of characters both good and bad and the gadgets he used.
To conclude, the graphic novel Watchmen presents the non-fantastic representation of a superhero, implying that not all heroes are like Superman. This notion is explored within the novel by mentioning the realistic motives of the characters choosing to become superheroes, by Rorschach’s representation and through the heroic reactions of the New Yorkers to a street crime. These elements all contribute to Watchmen’s uniqueness and complexity as a superhero comic.

Even if they had and Batman had studied his opponent’s weaknesses, Spider-man’s strategy and fighting style is ever changing and adapting. Finally, Batman, with his strength, intelligence, mental instability, and unlimited resources, seems to mirror one of Spider-man’s most infamous super villains, The Green Goblin, who Spider-man destroyed.
Does Captain America embody the definition of a patriotic hero? What is a hero? “A person, typically a man, who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities.” What is patriotism? “Patriotism is an emotional attachment to a nation which an individual recognizes as their homeland. This attachment, also known as national feeling or national pride, can be viewed in terms of different features relating to one 's own nation, including ethnic, cultural, political or historical aspects.” Captain America shows he’s a patriotic hero by simply his uniform, compassion, and strength. Not everyone in America has those things, and that upon many other things is what’s wrong with America.
The Lone Ranger, Zorro, Batman, Superman are some of the characters that we stereotypically constitute as heroes. They are known to fight with courage without fear of death. They destroy the enemy within a blink of an eye. They fight using their own body strength, superpower, or some kind of weapon. They come to the rescue miraculously and leave without a trace. They are mysterious. We are unable to identify who they are underneath the masks and disguises. Yet, we praise them and ignore the real heroes that surround us regularly, ordinarily. “All of us …like to believe that in a moral emergency we will behave like the heroes of our youth, bravely and forthrightly, without thought of personal loss or discredit” (O’Brien 39). In other words, we are quite oblivious to the ordinary people of the world that are, in fact, the true heroes.
