I would like to be a participant in the BOLD initiative summer camp in 2016 because of my burgeoning interest in the field of cancer and cancer study. Since I was a child, I have lost 3 of my grandparents to this horrifying disease. Consequently, I had always wanted to take part in the battle against cancer. Every time I had a day off from school, I went to my mom’s lab and observed all the sophisticated equipment they used to study and advance humanity’s knowledge concerning cancer. Sitting in a cramped room with my mom, I frequently dreamt that one day I would be working to save millions of lives worldwide, like a superhero. Helping others has always been a priority of mine. If another person is in need, doing one's best to aid them is basic human judgment. I would fancy being a doctor, working long and hard hours to help individuals in need of treatment. When I was a kindergartener, I fell down the stairs, cracking my skull and entering emergency surgery. To this day, I remember how serene and joyful the doctor was when operating on me. I would also love to be an oncologist. I have always adored working in a lab. Ever since my childhood, it seemed so amazing that somebody would be given an objective and do experiments to prove it. Nowadays, in Biology class, labs are my favorite day of the week. Working to solve a problem has always been a passion of mine. I would also like to learn of other jobs that can help benefit the fight against cancer. If there are any jobs in helping the mental health of cancer patients, this would be a immense interest of mine. My future is constantly in my mind and I feel that attending the BOLD initiative will help me continue my path to
