Migratory Patterns of Birds:Tracking the Path of Canadian Geese in Ohio. During the Summertime it is extremely hot and there were a lot of birds flying around. As the season of Autumn begins, the leaves change colors and began to drop to the ground. When the leaves begin to whither away the bird population soon become depleted. As the chill of Autumn starts to take its toll the bird population becomes fewer and fewer. That was the past. The purpose of this paper is to provide why we need GPS information on the Canada Geese (Branta canadensis) in Ohio. The problem that faces Ohio is that the overpopulation of geese has caused numerous issues to agriculture and potential safety to the public as well as themselves. Gps data collection would help the cause so that scientist could monitor the migration pattern of the geese. The tracking device would help find where the geese have decided to cohabitate. Finding out where the geese stay would help in putting a place of sanctuary for the birds. An area that would not be disturbed by humans. With the data collected this would help the State of Ohio devise some best used practices for dealing with the intrusive population.
