Noticed that when metals turned back into powders or calxes, The newly formed calxes actually weighed more than when it was in its original metal form. Vice versa, when the Calx was reversed back into its original form their was a loss of weight. He hypothesized that instead of fire being the cause of loss and gain in weight ,that it was instead the release of air.
