What’s your favorite cake? Is it vanilla, strawberry, chocolate, red velvet? Whether it be vanilla or chocolate here’s a simple recipe for you cake lovers out there looking to make a cake from scratch. Today I’ll be teaching you how to making strawberry cake from scratch with buttercream icing. I know what you’re thinking, what authority do you have telling me what to do and how to make a cake?! In fact I have tons of authority considering I’ve made strawberry cake countless times with my grandma. Next grease and flour two nine inch round cake pans so the cake doesn’t stick to the surfaces. Once you have your cake preparations done and in order find a large bowl, and an electrical mixer and cream together the butter, sugar, and dry strawberry gelatin until it becomes light and fluffy. When it’s light and fluffy beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each one. In a separate bowl combine the flour and baking powder, then stir it into the batter alternately with the milk. Blend in the vanilla and strawberry puree. Now that your cake mix is ready to bake, divide the batter evenly among the pans you prepared by greasing and flouring and put the cakes in the oven. It will take 25 to 30 minutes to thoroughly cook. While it’s cooking we’ll be making the buttercream frosting.
To make the buttercream frosting all we need is butter, powdered sugar, ,and strawberries. First measure the ingredients, you will need one cup of butter, two packages of powdered sugar, and one cup of finely chopped strawberries. Beat the butter at medium speed with an electric mixer until it’s nice and fluffy. Next add your powdered sugar and chopped strawberries, beating at a low speed until your icing is creamy. If it’s too thick, add more strawberries, too thin add more powdered
