BACKGROUND
I am proposing for a library to be put into the Exton campus of Delaware County Community College. There is currently not a library at this location. In order to have the use of a campus library we must go to the main campus of the college, which is approximately thirty to forty minutes from the Exton location. There are many students that go the Exton campus throughout the year and take a variety of courses. Many of these courses require at least some time spent in the library to write papers, to do research, etc. Not everyone has the time to drive to main campus to use the library so I am proposing for one to be added to the Exton location. The Downingtown campus can use the library as well because it is relatively close. It only seems logical to add a library to a college campus because not only does it make it easier to students to complete their assignments but it also promotes learning. A library is necessary in order to learn. There are many materials in a library that people do not have access to at home.
CURRENT ENVIRONMENT
The current environment consists of basically nothing right now because there is not library on the Exton campus. The only way for students to use a campus library as of now is to go the main campus of Delaware County Community College in Newtown Square. This is rather inconvenient for most people because many reasons. For example the student may have a family to take care of and therefore not have the extra time to be travelling so far to use a library. Also some students may not have the use of a car in order to travel that far to use a campus library. The only way for an Exton campus student to use the main campus library is to request that certain books be sent to the Exton campus where they can pick them up and use them. This can be a rather lengthy process and most students do not even know this service is available. The only other choice students have right now is to make the drive to main campus. Because...

CONCLUSION
All in all, I propose to have a fully functioning library added to the Exton campus of Delaware County Community College. Currently there is no library on the campus. Access to the campus library means driving at least thirty to forty minutes. This is rather difficult for many students to work into their busy schedules. With a library on campus will come many benefits not only to the students but also to the school. The students would have an area to meet for group projects and study groups as well as access to research databases and computers. A new library on the Delaware County Community College campuses would bring more prestige to the school and perhaps attract perspective students. A new library would also raise revenue for the school. A new library on the Exton campus would be a smart idea because most of all it is going to help the students better themselves and their learning career. More college graduates means more better paying jobs and a better community.
The King County Library System is the fifth largest library system in circulation in the United States. The current director of the KCLS, Bill Ptacek, started with the organization three years ago and is in the process of working towards a new strategic plan titled "The Year 2000 Plan, which has a long-term goal of integrating all the resources of the library system equally and to coordinate all the efforts to ensure it was providing the best possible service to the community. In the three years, Ptacek worked to expand the mission to cover services for the community to include children, life-long learning, career development, and literacy (Chell, 1996, pg.2). The reworking of the mission and services of KCLS was in full swing, but there were
First positive externality I face on campus is staying inside because everything that I need for studying is near: faculty, library, pavilion. It does not take a lot of time to get from my college to faculty or library.
...ngs if the donations department decided to completely eliminate it completely, but the savings that I calculated was lower than what the committee calculated. The savings the budget committee found includes the part time student help/additional funds, which has not been incurred yet. This portion of the building being used by the donations department to me actually helps the library based on facility costs because it may become vacant and will be paying for an empty room. So the library would only be saving $19,000 at the very least instead of $23,900. It could even be lower considering that those facility costs (highlighted above) would still be paid for by the library if they decided to use it for something else in replace of the donations department. These are some of the errors in logic that the committee made that changes the analysis of this case study.
From the survey, I found out some important detail of my school’s literacy instructional program and the infrastructure and what my school does that is outstanding and what it needs to improve on. My school would be considered adequate with both the instructional program and the infrastructure portions of the survey. This is a good start for our campus, but I would like to see my campus become a more outstanding when it comes to literacy. I would like my campus to continue to use technology to help students improve their literacy and have teachers continue to integrate new technology into the literacy program as well. According to Jones-Kavalier and Flannigan, “Digital and visual literacies are the next wave of communication specialization” (2008). I would also like my school to continue to promote its few outstanding characteristics and work on fixing the characteristics that definitely need improvement.

Being a student at Texas Woman’s University I am aware of some of the problems that occur on campus. Unfortunately, the parking situation here on campus sticks out like a sore thumb. Whether you can’t find an open parking space anywhere on campus or whether you just can’t justify paying $70.00 for a parking permit when it doesn’t guarantee you a parking spot. Not only are students fighting traffic to find a parking spot, but they are also having to park long distances from their class, which can become a major problem in the middle of winter in Texas. All of these problems faced by students that attend this university all boil down to how more parking needs to be added to this university. Throughout this essay I will inform you about a possible

very much support this bill and I would like to present some information as to how this will help the community.
There needs to be additional parking on campus made for those visiting the campus and also for students, faculty already has reserved parking; however the limited amount of parking on campus is forcing students and visitors to reserved faculty lots. Our school is limited in funding for certain projects such adding additional parking to solve the parking problem on campus. The student body should take responsibility for the raising of these funds to build additional parking on campus. The rising sophomore class should organize fund raising events to build additional parking on campus.

All institutions whether attending a university, community, or even a technical college, requires the student to purchase a textbook in order to be successful in the class. Some textbooks aren’t even open all semester and the information and statistics can be out of date and can greatly affect your overall knowledge on certain topics. In addition, cost free text books can enhance the quality of education by the teachers and serve more accessibility to working students. Although councils and administrations can’t approve cost free text books, policies such as, Open Textbook, bookstore rentals, and affordable textbook act should be offered nationwide. As an experienced freshmen surviving the first year of college, textbooks should be purchased free of cost provided by institutions throughout the country.
HISTORYThe Library of congress was established by an act of congress on April 24, 1800. It was originally housed in the United States capitol. The collection, which stared out small at 740 volumes, slowly increased to over 3,000 volumes by 1814. That year, though, the British along with the capitol burned those books during the assault on Washington. To rapidly replace the collection, Thomas Jefferson offered his personal library to congress at no cost, describing the nature of his books like so: "I do not know that it contains any branch of science which Congress would wish to exclude from the collections; there is, in fact, no subject to which a Member of Congress may not have occasion to refer." This changed the library from a tiny legislative workplace to the largest national institute that it was about to become.Jefferson’s more or less 6,500 volumes formed the heart of the library, and grew speedily in the nineteenth century. The new copyright law of 1870 demanded that two copies of every single book copyrighted had to be given to the library in order to receive protection.
So far, I’ve done well here at the university. I enjoy all of my classes and look forward to them as well. My biggest challenge in the week that I’ve been at UCF has been navigating the considerably bigger campus. I’m sure the more I explore the campus, the more comfortable I will become with navigating it. Once I learn the lay out of the campus I’ll be able to locate the various campus resources, the main feature of UCF that I’m looking forward too. I would like to utilize the various campus resources, like the writing lab and the S.A.R.C to better myself as a
Everyday I walk into my school library with the hope of influencing a student or a teacher to read a new book, use a new search strategy, or to collaborate on a unit of study. My goals for students range from getting to know them and their interests and then guiding the student to these new sources or literature. I look upon the library as a learning lab or, as some in my profession have dubbed it, the Learning Commons. Every morning I greet anywhere from 50 to 80 students who are waiting for the first bell of the day. These students are in the library because they have made a decision that this is their place; a hangout for those students who are drawn to a vibrant environment that is teeming with learning and discussion.
