The take-off thrust to weight ratio (T/W)TO can be calculated as follow:
-Sizing to landing
SFL= 3000ft
From (Eqn 2.3) VA can be obtained:
SFL = 0.3 VA3 VA = (3000/0.3)1/2
= 100kts
With Eqn (2.4):
Vstall = 100 / 1.3 = 76.92 kts = 79.62 x 1.68781 = 129.83 ft/s (Eqn2.5)

The book Fifth Business by Robertson Davies is written from the point of view of the narrator; a man named Dunstable Ramsay. From the readers’ perspective, we see him to be the main character, but as the novel progresses, he and those he encounters start to see him as fifth business. The novel constantly shows instances where guilt and competition play roles in shaping character’s decisions.
"To continue to bring humanity back to air travel." This is the promise JetBlue Airways Corporation has made to its shareholders, customers, and "crew members" in order to build a strong, solid and rapidly growing company. JetBlue uses two significant tools that drive its success: low fares and superb customer service. This growing discount airline works to keep its costs down and implies this goal by offering one-class service and eliminating airport lounges and full meal services. JetBlue relies completely on technology with an operation strategy of choosing less crowded airports located near large cities to keep its turnaround down. In addition, JetBlue offers leather seats, LiveTV (a satellite service with programming provided by DirectTV), and began adding XM Satellite Radio to its fleet in 2005 to stress customer value.

Boeing is a very interesting company. Boeing may only be one company but they compete in two different markets: commercial airlines and the defense industry. The main competition in the commercial airline market is Airbus. Airbus and Boeing seem to have the commercial airline industry in a chokehold basically having no other competitors. Since the industry has high barriers to entry they will not see much competition anytime soon. Boeing is the American leader in commercial airplanes and Airbus is the European leader, which means they are constantly battling. Their competing aircrafts are the Airbus A380 and the Boeing 747. Both companies have many variations of their respected aircraft and according to Business Insider, Airbus’ A380 outranks
Focus on underserved markets and large metropolitan areas, utilizing underutilized airports with less congestion adding to the ability to remain on the ground in less time.
In lights of the PESTLE model, the political factors bring both opportunities and threats to Jetstar’s new proposal. Since this proposal focus on the Australia-India low price airline market, the analysis conducts involving Australia and India political environments. There are two potential opportunities in this political environment. Firstly, the Australian government has the incentive to boost the development of tourism between the two countries (Tourism Australia 2012). With the support of government, the start of the new route could be easier. For example, American government erects legislation to increase competition of the airport ‘by forcing these airports to increase the availability of scarce facilities’ (Williams 2015). Such legislations and regulations as well as financing investment or subsidies from government could directly help the airline company cut the cost. Similarly, Australian government could also have powerful intervention to influence aviation market. Thus, it is a big opportunity for Jetstar to the new route expansion if it acquires the
In a high competitive world market and with the increasing rational buyers a company can only win by creating and delivering the best customer value than the others competitors do. To succeed, a company needs to use the concepts of value chain.

The recent economic downturn has served to demonstrate the vulnerability of Westjet global economy and in particular, the tenuous financial thread by which a considerable number of airlines around the world operate. In Canada, there continues to be an uneven playing field that serves to give Canadian operators a disadvantage. This has resulted in a considerable increase in the number of Canadian passengers who cross the Canada/U.S. border to travel from the U.S. to their destination. This will continue to have a detrimental impact not only on Canadian airlines, but on the economy as a whole through the loss of jobs as passengers take their business out of the country. Westjet continue to call on and work with the federal government to remove these impediments to competition so that Canadians have a competitive choice and Canadian airlines can continue to thrive.
Product Strategy of the British Airways 1.1 Introduction to product strategy Product is the most important component in an organization. Without a product there is no place, no price, no promotion, and no business. Product is anything that can be offered to a market to satisfy a want or a need. It is the core ingredient of the marketing mix and is everything favorable and unfavorable, tangible and intangible received in the exchange of an idea, service or good (Kotler 11th edition, 2003). British Airways is a business offering service products, flights across destinations, in the transportation industry.
