An entrepeneur is someone who starts a brand new business, with a considerable amount of financial risk and initiative

4. Outline the history of the business. (2 marks)
The original cafe first opened in 2014, but the owner wanted to sell it in July 2016. Robert decided to buy the business and his first meeting with the previous owner was in December 2016. Crate cafe is located in a lobby within a popular area (Parramatta), where lots of people walk past. Location is important to a small business as the business can have a better chance of being exposed to the public and could make it easier to advertise their products.

9. Describe the demographic and geographic segments the business targets. (4 marks)
Crate Cafe targets people that are trying to live a healthy lifestyle as the business is located next to a gym, so many people that visit that gym also walk pass the cafe.

Crate Cafe also targets local and office people because they could be looking for a place to eat lunch/breakfast at, so the cafe is great for them as it sells good, cheap food.
10. Identify two main competitors of the business and describe TWO ways the business gains a competitive advantage over its competition. (6 marks)

Standard 3.2.2 - Food Safety Practices and General Requirements, clause 3 states that the owners need to make sure that every worker that handles food in their business, and the people who supervise this work, have the knowledge they need to handle food safely
The Food Standards Code requires Cafe’s and restaurants to be regularly inspected by local council officers. The cafe/restaurant is checked for the physical condition of the facility, process for food handling and the food safety skills and knowledge of food handlers.
All food businesses must be designed and built in accordance to Food Standards Code 3.2.3 – Food Premises and Equipment. This means things like building adequate room for food storage and having hands free washing
