Burwood Summary
Burwood has a lot to offer anyone who wants to live in the midst of two great shopping precincts, several cafes and restaurants with diverse cuisines, great schools that cater to kids from newborns to Year 12, and have handy access to public transportation. Burwood's streets are lined with heritage-listed Federation homes, modern townhouses, beautiful Art Deco apartments, and contemporary homes and apartments. Some blocks of Burwood have been redeveloped, but there are still plenty of homes there ready for new owners. The schools in Burwood are excellent and are dedicated to high standards of education. The Woodstock Community Centre building is heritage listed and used for a variety of local events and personal celebrations. Woodstock Park has two nice playgrounds, barbecue facilities, picnic tables, benches, and a childcare centre. Some of the local activities include the Heart Foundation Walking groups, the Burwood Seniors Computer Club, the All Nations Bushwalkers, and others. This park and community centre are a major part of the Burwood suburb.
The Woodstock Park and Community Centre area is the main parkland in the area. There are a couple of small neighbourhood playgrounds in Burwood.
