Burger King is an American fast food chain that was founded in nineteen fifty-three as instaBurger King. It was originally founded by Keith J. Kramer and Matthew Burns. After running into some financial problems along the way InstaBurger was no more. In nineteen Fifty-Four David Edgerton and James McLamore purchased the company and renamed it “Burger King”. Over the next couple of years ownerships were changed a couple of times to make sure the company was running at its absolute best. Its headquarters are currently located at 5505 Blue Lagoon Drive, Miami-Dade county, Florida, United States. He was the individual that started the “burger wars”. Basically he ran commercials that said burger kings burgers were bigger and better Than McDonalds, these were some of the first political style “attack ads” in the food industry. Norman brinker stayed with the company for awhile fixing what he could before leaving the company to build the chilis restaurant. Without smith or Brinker Burger King dropped again, this was one of the major reasons why Pillsbury couldn’t fight off any takeover bids by the Grand Metropolitan P.L.C a British company. Grand Metropolitan already had a worldwide mindset, first they changed burger kings distribution methods which’d helped the company a lot, switching their soft drink contract from Pepsi to Coca-Cola. They also partnered with Walt Disney company to have a tie in with Disney films. While doing all of this they managed to expand Burger King around the world, partially by buying the burger chain
